The Omni Parker House, constructed in 1927, is one of the Historic Hotels of America. The original Parker House Hotel was established in 1855, and the modern venue maintains the Parker House commitment to luxury. At Parker's Restaurant, sample Baked Boston Schrod (cracker crumbs, jasmine rice, white wine and lemon beurre blanc), Boston Cream Pie, or the Parker House Roll for an authentic taste of the very city where these dishes were concocted. Guests seeking a nightcap should try one of The Last Hurrah's golden Bostonian whiskeys for a warming end to a day of exploration; look closely at the walls, and the faces of politicians, senators and congressmen will beam down at you as you sip. Accommodations range from the Economy Petite Single to the family Freedom Trail Suite, where cozy bean bags, activity tables, and children's costumes make for an entertaining stay.

Great place, great value

Great hotel with classic Boston charm.... Perfect location as a central home base to walk around a historic and beautiful city. Minutes from Frog Pond, the Boston Common and the waterfront, great bars and restaurants on the same block. Can't go wrong with this choice...

Great in 1920

The glory days are gone for the Parker House I am afraid. One can see it was fine and elegant at one point, but now the glimmer has faded. The room was small, and well...musty and ill put together. The mini fridge, nonfunctional. The bathroom, small and - cardinal sin in a 4-star - filled with moldy tile. The heat occasionally didn't work, but sometimes it did...so I guess that's a draw. Don't get me wrong, the location is absolutely perfect! If you can get a good deal and overlook the above (and the terrible noise from inside and out) than go for it. If not, head over to one of the newer build neighbors...

A little outdated but great location

I know it's an old hotel and that's the charm of it but some things could have been updated so it wouldn't look a little rundown. New carpets, new doors and moldings in the rooms would make a big difference and still keep the historic look. You can hear everything in the hallway if someone is out there...very clearly as if they were in the room with you! Maybe new heavier doors would help. Other than that, great location and great amenities. Very comfy beds as well.

Great place for New Years

The Mrs and I stayed at the Parker House for 2 nights over New years. The location could not have been better- right off the common so we were able to easily enjoy all of the First Night activities within a short walk of everything- North End, Hynes and the Pru. This is a really nice hotel for $159/night. The room was immaculate but a bit small which is what I would have expected for the price. I would have loved to at least have an easy chair in the room for reading (there wasn't one). Otherwise the room was nicely appointed and decorated....the wall mounted flat panel TV, minibar and coffee maker were all well appreciated. One small gripe....they charge for wireless unless you are a member of their frequent lingerer program. The check in clerk signed us up and assured us that we would not be charged the $9.95 per day but it showed up on our bill. On check out, they cheerfully removed the charge but it was a small and unnecessary aggravation. One complement, however- unlike many hotels, the wifi was excellent- a full 3MB bandwidth so it was almost as fast as being at home. They also had a wired internet cable...a nice legacy touch which I've come to really appreciate, too.

Delightful stay

This is just my favourite hotel. Walking into the lobby fills me with a sense of calm, which is only increased by the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. My room was clean and extremely comfy. The hotel is located ideally for exploring and walking around the city. And the hotel itself has a history and atmosphere that made my stay feel special, as it always does. I love to stay here.

Great end of a business trip

This hotel is in the middle of Boston within walking distance to many historical sights, transportation stops and great restaurants. I had a corner queen room which was small and a bit chilly but absolutely lovely! The staff were friendly and very helpful. I would choose this hotel again!

Perfect Location!

You can walk to the Boston Commons, Fanueil Hall, Union Oyster House, the Duck Pond, Beacon Hill. It is the best location. Staff was great, very helpful and polite. You really get a feel for what Boston is all about. The walls to our room were a little thin as we could hear baby crying, but that's probably everywhere. The beds were super comfortable. The room itself is small but if you travel to big cities or overseas, then you know the older hotels are like that. I would definitely stay here again!!!
