Boston Convention

We were there for a convention + family vacation. Great to be within walking distance of convention center (10min walk), ... aquarium, T (subway) stations, children's musuem, freedom trail, etc. Didnt need a car at all. Hotel was beautiful! Pool, gym, room--all great. Be careful of mini-bar--if you even take things out to look at them you are charged. (We moved things so we could put our son's milk in there..oops! They took it off, though) Staff overall was very friendly and helpful, concierge had great suggestions. No coffee pot in room (can get down in lobby, but only until 7-ish) The hotel is across from fire dept, but we never felt like it kept us (or our 1 yr old) awake and our room faced the street not waterfront. Restaurants in hotel are expensive, but there is Panera/Dunkin Donuts close by. Also, charged to make local calls, use internet in lobby.

Freedom trail was so neat! To see the historic sights. We didnt pay for the tour, but used the guide the hotel gave us to stop at all the sights along the way! Great memories. Also, consider taking the Train up to Salem!

Great Stay Overall
PM Sep 21, 2009
The experience was wonderful. Room service was prompt and the food was excellent. The spa and gym on the 2nd floor is very ... nice too albeit pricey. Many high-class restaurants and bars on first floor. Didn't like the fact that there was no late check out option that was complimentary. 50 dollars extra for 2 hrs more.

Luxurious hotel, bland location
college visitor Sep 20, 2009
We stayed here while visiting colleges in the area. We weren't familiar with Boston and didn't have much time to spend ... exploring. There were no obvious places to eat that we could find within walking distance. We thought that the hotel was more centrally located. We had the option of paying more for a water front room but did not take it as we were only spending one night. We didn't realize that the Boston Fire Dept. was directly across the street. That being said, it was a beautiful hotel.

For this 1st class name hotel, look like people that work there were hired from the street..we keep having problems with the ... room and bills that charged to us which were not from us..also they kept put wrong name in our room. We hope they did not try to add any charge from s.o. else to our credit card after checkout. Another things are with the room price we paid, there is no amenities like coffee maker in the room..no free internet..everything you needs will have to pay extra with high price like internet $6 for 15 min. use...parking $39 for each time we park...morning coffee..needs to go downstairs to purchase...etc.. Also the hotel is across from the fire station so expect to hear the siren everyday..even in high floor.

Close to T lines and can walk to Fanuiel Hall and other tourist spots including Aquarium. Beautiful lobby and very nice rooms ... with 2 FULL (not queen) beds. Have to ask for ask for coffee maker and 4 towels. Everything else was great in room. Nicee bar with great area outside. Sixteen year old son could not use workout room which was disappointing. Fire house across the street and was loud at times. Fire alarm went off at hotel about midnight one night. Barking Crab and Legal Seafood are in walking distance and very good. Many good places to eat in North End and GREAT pastry shops. Again, in walking distance. Took the duck tour and it was the worst one I have been on. this was my 3rd. Tagged on one of the walking tours and it was great. Went on whale watching tour and saw several whales. It was good. Climbing to the top of the Bunker Hill is worth the view. Great city with alot to do. ENJOY! Still a great trip and place to stay!

I got a great rate booking on Orbitz. The hotel staff is friendly and offered great tips on where to go to enjoy the 4th of ... July fireworks. The hotel is modern and stylish along the waterfront. The view of the water was relaxing and calming. The hotel is located one block away from the red and silver lines. And walking to Back Bay, North End and Boston Commons was very convenient. The area was very safe to walk at night.

If you are in the area and want to do some shopping. Head to Boston Common to enjoy a stroll through the Public Gardens and head up Charles St. Charles St is lined with old brick houses that brings you back to a different time in history. Stop by Newbury St to enjoy some high-end designer stores and walk down to the other end to enjoy a nice brunch/lunch. Afterwards stroll a few blocks to the Prudential center to enjoy the mall experience which includes Saks, Neimans and Barneys.

The hotel is in a perfect location to walk to many of the city's historical sites. The hotel staff was very courteous and ... professional. The staff at this hotel goes out of their way to handle all of your needs. The only delay in our service was morning ... coffee. There are not any coffee pots in the room and you must make a request for the coffee. It took a long time for us to get our coffee-already showered and dressed and coffee had still not arrived. If you need your morning coffee- make your request super early.
