Enjoy the blend of Boston's rich historical background with its sleepless financial district, at the riverfront InterContinental Boston. The hotel offers a contemporary stay on the very site of the original Boston Tea Party, with blue glass defining the look and feel of the hotel, and chic restaurants like Sushi-Teq offering a unique mix of sushi and tequila tasting. There's a welcome shot of red in the decor at RumBa Bar, its private Champagne Bar resembling a Moulin Rouge-style boudoir. Work out in front of that endless skyline at the fitness room, or embark on your own adventure in the hotel's 2-acre herb gardens, possibly settling at the continental-style plaza with a glass of house red in hand.

Neighborhood
Located right in the midst of the city financial district, the hotel is also within reach of the historic sights of the brick-lined Freedom Trail, with a starting point at Boston Common, less than a mile's walk away. Down at the waterfront, visitors can also marvel at the living Amazon rainforest and pacific reef exhibits at the New England Aquarium. It's in this area that you'll also find some of the city's freshest seafood offerings, in places like Legal Sea Foods. For culture-heads, a trip across Fort Point Channel leads to the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
Hints and tips
For those who prefer more silence than sound while on holiday, the rooms facing the waterfront offer the quietest stay.

Don't miss the delicious hot canapes served during cocktail hour at the hotel's lively Club Lounge or, if you're after something a little more 'street,' Quincy Market is worth a visit both for the design of the old market buildings and the grazing opportunities with everything from hot bagels to frozen yogurt.

My review of InterContinental BOSTON

The room was very spacious & comfortable. The bathroom was also very nice with extremely large tub & shower. Good location on the waterfront. Concierge also very helpful & friendly. Only complaint was no complimentary coffee nor coffemaker availble in room.

Exceptional value

I couldn't believe that we found this hotel cheaper than some of the other options. It was beautiful -- very clean and well maintained, and in a great location (close to South Station) which made it convenient for travel throughout the city.

Beautiful luxury hotel with a staff to match

I stayed for one evening at the Intercontinental Boston and loved it. The concierge was so friendly and accomodating during my stay, and the staff from check-in to room service were all exceptionally friendly! The gym was filled with state of the art equipment, and a gorgeous indoor pool. On-site restaurants such as Miel are gorgeous with a great menu. Right across from the Boston Tea Party museum, and within walking distance of most of the sights to see in Boston, the Intercontinental is a luxurious must-stay!

A nice place to visit.

The design / decor of the hotel was new, fresh and inviting: it lent to a sophisticated, ritzy ambiance. Nightly, the lobby was alive and full of excitment from the Rumba bar, the patrons were all very sophisticated and dressed in dressy business casual. The veiw is nice, especially to catch the very early New England summertime sunrises. The regular king size bedroom's are roomy enough with a rather large bathroom. The bathroom consists of marble floors with a huge tub for soaking in after a day of touring -the glass encased shower includes a removable showerhead and a dandy robe. However, there are large sliding windows that open into the bedroom area, this does not allow for much privacy. The beds / pillows are super soft and made so tight you could bounce a quarter off of them. As for turn down service, we were only offered it on our last day there, unfortunatly we happened to be in the room at that time (4pm) and had to decline the service. The hotel did not offer free wi-fi in the room, and the hourly charge was a bit pricey. The outside (in the back) offers a nice romantic place to sit. Be sure to check out the jelly-fish early in the morning. The silver line direct from the airport is only a short 2 block walk. We spent so much time playing Boston tourist we were unable to enjoy any of spa services, which were probably magnificant.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Plenty to do close by. Faneuil Hall is a short distance with plenty of restaurants. The Aquarium offers whale watching tours. There is a breakfast grill located next to the firehouse which is directly across the street-however, I would suggest for breakfast walking up to Summer St. to visit Sebastian's for a quick breakfast and coffee.

Great Stay Overall

The experience was wonderful. Room service was prompt and the food was excellent. The spa and gym on the 2nd floor is very nice too albeit pricey. Many high-class restaurants and bars on first floor. Didn't like the fact that there was no late check out option that was complimentary. 50 dollars extra for 2 hrs more.

Fantastic!

We stayed one night. We arrived 4 hours early and intended to just drop our bags with the concierge and tour the city. The hotel immediately accommodated us and settled us in our room. The following day, we were permitted to check out but leave the car in the garage until we were ready to leave the city. Great customer service!

very nice room. nice hotel.

The Intercontinental Boston was very nice. The lobby, room and entire hotel was very upgraded and comfortable. The bathroom and room lay out was very sophisticated. The room was quiet and modern. The staff was polite. The concierge was not very helpful however. There seemed to be few people working at the concierge during one of the busiest holiday weekends. The location was excellent and being near the water was a very nice touch. We had a wonderful stay overall and would recommend this hotel to our friends. Next time we stay in Boston, we will stay there again.
