Great, quiet location

The hotel is well situated and easy to get to. It's a fairly typical Hyatt. Nice rooms (big for being in a city); well cleaned, nice amenities. I was only there one night and didn't have time to check out the restaurant/bar,but it looked nice. Overall, one of the nicer stays I've had in Boston (and I have had many, my daughter was graduating from BU so I won't have so many now). The ONLY negative was being woken up at 8am by the cleaning staff to see if they could clean my room. On the other hand, when I arrived at 10:30 am yesterday, they were able to give me a room right away-check in is later in the day-so I'm thinking it sort of evened it out.

Great Stay

Everything at the hotel was great. Everyone was very polite and helped us find places to eat and directions to the convention center. Everyone was very hospitable. I definitely will use this same hotel next year if PAX East is in the same location.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

The convention center is only about a 30 min walk away. There is a great 4 floor club just down the street that is less than a 2 min walk away. Also there is a beautiful park that is maybe a 10 min walk away.

Nice hotel but they hold a lot of $

Nice hotel in good area, but they took a $50 hold on our card every day on top of charging us for purchases made to our room on a daily basis. It was also hard because there was an elevator from the street to the 3rd floor loby then had to switch to get to the room floors. Night time was a little interesting when the loby on the ground level turned into a napping area after the bars closed.

Over Zealous Security Staff

My party was attending an Allman Brothers show at the Orpheum Theater and that is why we chose Hyatt, Boston being a short walk to theater. The problem happened when we were at the show. One of our neighbors complained to security that we were smoking. When we returned from the show we were locked out of our rooms. When speaking to security they said we were being charged a 250 dollar cleaning fee for both our rooms. When we apologized for the one cigarette out our open window they let us stay but the fee would remain. Warning! don't smoke in their rooms and avoid their security if you have to stay there. Never again we will visit a Hyatt.
