Great location, clean, pleasant staff

The hotel was perfect in every way but one. We were on the top floor and there is a lof of heavy equipment above us (seen via online maps) and it was very noisy, in a vibrational way. We didn't bring it to the attention of the staff until we left because we didn't realize that the noise wouldn't stop until we were settled in for the night after a long day. I had a very hard time sleeping, though others in my room weren't as bothered. Otherwise, the place is clean and the staff pleasant and the location is great with a T stop right next door.

Great hotel in an excellent location

I stayed here in a Fenway room with my fiancée for 4 nights. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent (100 ft away from the subway stop, close to quite a few places to eat, a 5 minute walk from Fenway). The room looked brand new and was very clean. Two relatively small issues with the hotel: The room had a very strong seafood smell to it the entire duration of our stay. We got used to it after a while, though. My theory is that the return air for the A/C was picking up the smells from the oyster bar downstairs, but I'm not sure. The water pressure in the shower was pretty low, and the shower ran out of hot water quickly, so we had to space our showers out if we both wanted warm water. Overall it was a very nice hotel, but the hotel can be very pricey during the week, so it might not be the best value depending on when you stay.

Yes!!!

Hotel Commonwealth is a wonderful gem of a hotel in Back Bay - exquisite decor, friendly and helpful staff, terrific location. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The only glitch was a duplicate charge for parking which was quickly resolved. The Malin + Goetz bath products were a treat. Thank you thank you! I hope to return very soon!

New Years in Boston

My wife and I stayed here for a New Years trip. The hotel was fantastic. Clean, very luxurious, and the location was fabulous. The green line has a stop right under the hotel. From there you can get anywhere in the city relatively painlessly. The hotel also has three restaurants located in the hotel. All were good, though the one is more of a chill lounge (great for a late night stack and drink). We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Boston.

Perfect hotel experience

Right from check-in, the hotel staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is a beautiful building, inside and out, as is the room where I stayed (a junior suite, only a minor upgrade from a standard room). It's conveniently located right next to Boston University (where I was visiting), the Kenmore T Station, and lots of shops on Commonwealth Avenue. The room was clean, comfortable, and very large for the price. Take it from an experienced traveler: this is absolutely the best hotel experience I have ever had.

holiday at commonwealth hotel

As a European traveler I found this hotel as an excellent choice to spend the time you have in Boston. It is in an excellent, quiet yet lively location. It is fairly close to the city center and for those who hate walking can get there by train or bus which can be taken from Kenmore station which is right in front of the hotel. The personnel is extremely helpful and I really enjoyed my stay there. I would recommend it for both pleasure and business occasions.
