Absolutely Disappointing Stay!

For a $230.00 a night room, plus another $39.00 for valet parking, I would expect NOT to be bitten by BED BUGS! Attention all travelers - if you like to stay in a room and NOT be bitten by bed bugs AVOID THIS HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS! What a disappointment ... as a former employee of many Holiday Inn properties across the United States, I am attuned to the standards required of the individual Holiday Inn properties. My room was a complete failure of meeting Holiday Inn standards. Chipped and scratched furniture. Saggy mattress. A lamp that did not work. Moldy-smelling bathroom. Stained bath towels. Dirty carpets. Plus bed bug bites to cap off a lousy room stay. I will tell everyone I know that, if they are ever to visit Boston, to avoid the Holiday Inn Express Boston Garden like the plague. I am embarassed for the owner of this property.

Good stay

Nice rooms, comfortable beds, and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Decent continental breakfast. Elevator kinda squeaky. Location walking distance to T line, north end, etc. A fair number of dodgy characters out on Friend st.

Great Hotel for the price.

Well my girlfriend and I were vacationing in Boston and were planning to leave on Sunday. However we decided to stay one more day and needed a hotel room fast. I looked on [...]and found this Holiday Inn Express. Since we arrived late, we really didn't go anywhere but the hotel. However we did notice a pub right below which would've been perfect to chill if we had wanted to. The room was small but since we only needed it to sleep I found it great. The room had a flat screen TV and the bed was very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel if you just needed a place to sleep. I mean, we were visiting so no point in getting an expensive room if you are going to be traveling through the streets of Boston. Thumbs Up!

Great location

Great value and location for Boston. No extras here (pool lobby, etc.) but the location is awesome across from the garden and net to all the trolley stops. easy access to anything in downtown Boston with a little homework. can save on rentals and cab rides from here. Room was quiet. staff was not available (front desk was vacant for about an hour upon arrival)for periods of stay.

Make concessions for moderate price

small rooms, small elevator, strange windows--it's an older building. Staff friendly and helpful--location close to trolley stop. Evenings were very noisy--lots of hollering outside--close to sports arena--got quiet after 11pm. rooms clean and pleasant.

Close to events at TD Banknorth

Was able to check in early (took the train so arrived around 10:30 am) staff very friendly - room needs updating. Location is perfect for TD Banknorth so worth overlooking the small thing.

Overbooked, but handled

They overbooked our reservation. We had to be sent to a hotel outside of the city for our first night, even though we had prepaid for 2 nights.

Disappointed

Hotel located on a small street, was a bit scary having to walk back at night. Not very well lit. First visit to Boston. Location wasn't as close to the central location as expected. Staff were ok, weren't exceptional. Previous visit to Holiday Inn Express in Canada was, on the other hand, awsome. This specific one needed to more work in the upkeeping. Room were a bit stuffy. We had an oddly shaped room where we had to sleep facing the door.
