Hotel overcharged Meals

Hotel refused to honor Orbitz $ 50.00 pre-paid restaurant voucher. Added restaurant charges to my hotel bill.Have stayed here several times before w/o any problem. Unless Orbitz will re-imburse me for the above (I have invoice & Voucher) I will certainly not consider using your service or Holiday Inns again. Robert J. Kaynes

Middle Cost, Low Value

We booked this reservation two weeks in advance so we could make it to a business appointment in Boston early the next morning. The hotel does not have parking, nor a discounted rate, so you end up paying forty dollars per night to park in the garage underneath the hotel. The room was dank, dreary, and nothing special. We got a room on the tenth floor, but had the view of the parking lot behind the hotel. The pillows were overly stuffed and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very cramped. We could hear people showering and talking from other rooms, in our room. The air conditioning unit was limited to 65 degrees at the lowest temperature. For a summer day at 85 degrees outside to an eight month pregnant woman, 65 degrees is nowhere near cool enough to sleep comfortably. The customer service was average. No complimentary breakfast. We left something in the room after we checked out. When we noticed it was still in the hotel room, we called the service desk. It had only been ten minutes since we had checked out. The service desk representative blind transferred our phone call to supposedly the cleaning crew, but whomever answered the call did not speak english. That person disconnected our call. I was not impressed whatsoever with the service or conditions of this hotel stay and will not be recommending it.

NOT SURE IT WAS WORTH THE COST

I STAYED AT THIS HOTEL PRIMARILY BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION. IT WAS CONVENIENT FOR ME TO GET INTO THE AREAS OF BOSTON THAT I WANTED TO BE IN. I HAD STAYED AT THE HOTEL ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO AND OTHER MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY HAVE ALSO STAYED WHILE VISITING BOSTON. I JUST WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE HOTEL STAFF AND THEIR REPSONSE TO ME AS A GUEST. THE VALET PARKING STAFF WAS NONCHALANT AND JUST DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE THAT I WAS THERE TO HAVE A CAR PARKED OR TO GET A CAR FROM THE GARAGE. THE LADIES THAT WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR MY ROOM MAINTENANCE KIND OF CLEANED IT BUT FORGOT TO REPLACE USED ITEMS ON A DAILY BASIS. THEY EVEN LEFT THE IRON OUT INSTEAD OF PUTTING IT AWAY WHILE STRAIGHTENING UP. ROOM WAS ALSO NEED OF BEING RENOVATED, THOUGH THEY DID TALK ABOUT BEING IN THE PROCESS OF A 6 MILLION DOLLAR RENOVATION. GOVERNMENT CENTER IS A POOR CONOTATION!! THE ONLY REASON I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO FRIENDS OR FAMILY IS BECAUSE OF LOCATION.

Meh

I was in town on business. It was fine for the price. The restaurant is ho-hum and over-priced. The room was fine but there is NO HOT WATER IN THE MORNING. It took me two mornings of icy showers to figure out that I had to shower at night and then just wet my hair in the morning.

family friendly

THe room is very small but clean. The bathroom is tiny. you walk into the toilet and have to shut the door to the barhroom as soon as you walk in , THe staff was very friendly. Close to public gardens but very far from the city. There is alot of traffic so ir takes forever to get into the vity. Cab stands at the door of the hotel very convenient. Have valet parking for 4.00 more than the 24 hour public parking, with more flexibilty. Worth the service.

Location is very good. Close to family.

Personnel is very professional; and very pleasant. Unfortunately, there is a lack of attention to details in the care of the rooms. Dusty alarm clocks, etc.

Great location! Nice room...but...

Check-in friendly and flawless. Location great. Between 2 T stations. Easy walk to Boston Common, Quincy Market and the North End. Room was snug but modern. Nice flat screen TV but several channels had poor reception. Found previous guest's food in the fridge. Never had shampoo or lotion at all. Never got fresh soap bars. We wound up raiding the houskeeping cart to get the toiletries. Paid extra for the "executive" floor. Other than elevator keycard security and a thin terry bathrobe saw no advantage to staying on the executive level at all. No snacks in the executive lounge. No refreshments at 5 PM common in other hotels.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

The Whole Foods Market behind the hotel (accessible from the 2nd floor) was a great place to get coffee, pastry, salads, buffet food. Huge selection. Tables inside and out.

Beatable location for the price

The room did not accommodate three persons comfortably. The room was small, the bathroom was small, there was no table to sit at, I was disappointed with the room. I did a lot of research for this trip and decided that I could have been much happier somewhere else.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

You do not need a car to go anywhere in Boston. There is a terrific public transportation system, and driving is difficult in the city unless you know your way around. Parking is challenging.
