Location is pedestrian friendly. You can walk all around downtown , through Boston Commons, to various universities. Hotel is ten minute walk from subway. Rooms are pleasant and beds are comfy. The staff is nice anad even evicted some wild partiers at 3:30 AM.

Good place to stay!
The staff of the Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill made me feel very welcome. I truely enjoyed my stay and had no issues with anything at all. WiFi was free, the restaurant was a terrific place to eat. I was close to every place I went while there. When I go back to Boston I will stay there again!

Ehh
I was pretty disappointed with my stay. Not one of the drains worked properly- from the toilet not flushing (there was still toilet paper and "stuff" in the toilet when I arrived), to the sink not draining, to the shower not draining and basically standing in a full bathtub. One my second night there there was an alarm that went off at 3:30am and fire trucks pulled up to the front of the building. It was very strange and disheartening the way we had no idea what was happening and if we were supposed to evacuate. The walk to the T was a short one which was nice, but overall it was really nothing I would recommend. I have traveled to Boston many times and wish I had stayed somewhere else. Saving a few bucks wasn't really worth it this time (and it was still pretty pricy).

Boston vacation
We were there to sight see. The staff were very helpful and gracious. Our only complaint was the unavailability of several items on the restaurant menu several nights in a row.

Middle Cost, Low Value
We booked this reservation two weeks in advance so we could make it to a business appointment in Boston early the next morning. The hotel does not have parking, nor a discounted rate, so you end up paying forty dollars per night to park in the garage underneath the hotel. The room was dank, dreary, and nothing special. We got a room on the tenth floor, but had the view of the parking lot behind the hotel. The pillows were overly stuffed and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very cramped. We could hear people showering and talking from other rooms, in our room. The air conditioning unit was limited to 65 degrees at the lowest temperature. For a summer day at 85 degrees outside to an eight month pregnant woman, 65 degrees is nowhere near cool enough to sleep comfortably. The customer service was average. No complimentary breakfast. We left something in the room after we checked out. When we noticed it was still in the hotel room, we called the service desk. It had only been ten minutes since we had checked out. The service desk representative blind transferred our phone call to supposedly the cleaning crew, but whomever answered the call did not speak english. That person disconnected our call. I was not impressed whatsoever with the service or conditions of this hotel stay and will not be recommending it.

Not impressed
The hotel was so so. Rooms are kinda expensive, breakfast was expensive. The staff is more concerned with chatting amongst each other when signing in and out. The bathroom is really tiny and room was a bit out dated. If you want a place to stay near the Garden and Faneuil Hall just to sleep its ok. Wouldn't go out of my way to stay here again though.

Outskirts of city. Pubs next door.
This hotel is on the outskirts of the city on the base of the beacon hill area. If you dont mind walking it'll talke you 10+ mins to get to a fine resturant. 5-10min walk to the T. It would be 1 thing if you did alot of walking and you were located in the middle of the city. But to do alot of working when your on the outskirts...it takes you 10+mins to get to point A. I would recommend paying $20-$30 more a better location.

Meh
I was in town on business. It was fine for the price. The restaurant is ho-hum and over-priced. The room was fine but there is NO HOT WATER IN THE MORNING. It took me two mornings of icy showers to figure out that I had to shower at night and then just wet my hair in the morning.
