Old World Charm

This hotel offers wonderful old world charm and grace. With exceptional service from a bygone era when service was the standard and mark of a hotel. The 4th floor gold level is worth every extra penny. The concierge staff make you feel very welcome and provide fantastic service. All the hotel staff were extremely friendly and engaging. Say hello to [...], the doorman from Tennessee for us!A must see right across the street is the Boston Public Library. It is an art museum within the library with a wonderful open garden in the middle.

Just a classic.

I told my 17-year-old daughter that we'd be staying at a "nice" hotel in Boston, and had the great fun of seeing her jaw drop when we walked into the lobby at the Copley Plaza. It is just a beautifully restored historical gem, and the bar and restaurant are not to be missed if for nothing more than the setting. You will not find a more elegant place to eat, and the service is absolutely impeccable. The dining room has a classic "don't tell your cardiologist" steak house menu, and is first rate. The bar has excellent small bites if you don't want a big meal. Our room was lovely, with traditional heavy drapes, fluffy robes, a glowing brass chandelier, and marble-tiled bath with a roomy tub. My only quibble is that we were charged $14 for internet access. Really, for what the room costs and in this day and age that seems quite silly. Other than that, though, just a complete treat.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Valet parking for one night cost $42 plus tip; you might want to take the train in and catch a cab hotel if you're not flying in. Boston is a small town, and a car is more trouble than it's worth.

Awesome Hotel and Location

The hotel was beautiful and very clean and in a perfect location. Close to Newbury St, Fenway, Prudential Center, great restaurants and a 11 dollar cab ride to the North end/Waterfront. We loved the city and are definitely going back and staying here! Only complaint was the maid making a lot of noise early in the morning.

Elegant stay at the Fairmont Copley Plaza

The Fairmont Copley Plaza was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and efficient. This is a lovely older hotel with lots of history (it is also a sister to the Plaza in NYC). The room was not huge but was large enought for my husband, myself and our 7-year old daughter. There was a nice closet with a safe and a shelf as well as drawers in the entertainment center armoire. The bathroom was small but lovely with beautiful gray marble throughout. The first night, my daughter and I ordered room service which was very fast, food was hot and they picked up the table in a timely manner after I called fro pick-up. The Fairmont Copley gives good, old-fashioned service and I really enjoyed that. I am sure that I was in one of the smaller rooms, but I was treated like royalty. The neighborhood was great and easily navigable. There is a T stop across the street and Trinity Church, Copley Plaza and lots of shopping is nearby.

An elegant, old style setting

The old style elegance is a wonderful change from the all too modern boutique hotels and the run of the mill large chains. If you are looking for ambiance, this is the place!
