Following a top-to-bottom $25 million makeover, the Colonnade sparkles with sleek design and pulsates with a hip vibe. The hotel's prime Back Bay location creates a sublime setting for any business or leisure traveler as it sits across from Hynes Convention Center and steps from shopping at Copley Place and Newberry Street. Sun-goers and foodies alike flock to Boston's only rooftop pool and the chic French bistro Brasserie Jo.

Rooms

Sleek, modern and chic with blond wood, chocolate accents and floor-to-ceiling windows that actually open, Colonnade's 285 rooms provide exceptional comfort. Each room features plush Sealy pillow-top mattresses with deluxe bedding, 37-inch flat-panel TV, free Wi-Fi access, Keurig gourmet coffee maker and Sharper Image Sound Soother alarm clock with iPod dock. In lieu of a traditional desk, rooms feature a dining-style table. Bathrooms comprise marble vanities, rain showers and Gilchrist and Soames bath products. And don't forget the rubber duck, a Colonnade trademark.

At least one adult 21 years or older must be registered at each room.

Property features

Centrally located in the Back Bay, the modern and exquisitely decorated Colonnade truly welcomes the most discerning travelers. The sleek lobby acts as a welcome respite from the bustling city with warm hues and pleasant energy. Brasserie Jo, a contemporary French bistro from acclaimed chef Jean Joho, dismisses the stodgy hotel restaurant reputation, while the Roof Top Pool hops both day and night (in season). Guests can work up a sweat in the 1,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art fitness center with expansive views of Boston's South End. Feel free to bring your pets--the hotel has one of the most welcoming pet policies around.

Great location, slept like a baby

I have stayed here several times before, and also at other hotels in Boston. Excellent overall experience. Very comfortable, nice room, good work space. Bath could be bigger, but is fine. Only complaint: The walls seem to be rather thin, and if someone chooses to speak loudly in the next room or in the hallway, it can be annoying. Staff was helpful and cordial, and the location is excellent.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

the hotel is across the street from the huge Pru Center, which is full of shops and restaurants. Next street over is Boyleston, which is also very nice, and one block over from there is Newberry Street, a little more fun, a little more funky. Also, a block from Copley Square.

Great Hotel, staff and location

Stayed here for a few night to explore Boston. Hotel is in a good location - not totally central but close enough for both walking and public transit. Room was nice: modern and very clean. Bathroom was a little small but that's possibly because I had a twin room. Staff at the hotel were great - very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again

Perfect Location

This is a perfect location. Walking distance to Copley Square and Boylston St. Walking distance to Shaw's, a huge grocery/wine store. Just outside the entry is the T-stop for the train. This is a really upscale area of Boston. When my son came back from his morning run, he was greeted at the front door of the hotel with a towel and a bottle of water. It doesn't get much better than that!!! Great room with great coffee, wine glasses and a wine opener. I will definitely book our next trip to The Colonnade.
