Great hotel in perfect location with reasonable rates

This was our second stay with the Charlesmark since we were so happy with the first one. Location is just perfect, right where the actions were. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We got in early and tried our luck to see if there is a room available and they got us one. I was later looking for a shower cap that was not provided by the hotel, and the receptionist actually sent someone to buy some at the CVS nearby. Our stay was just perfect from start to finish, except for one little hick up: Found a clump of hair in the shower that didn't get cleaned up. Since it's minor we just wiped that hair out and didn't even mention it to the staff.

Good One For Attending Meeting

It is 4 blocks away from the Hynes Converntion Center. The location is perfect. The young people who work in the hotel are really nice and professional. It has free wi-Fi, continental breakfest, free computer, and printing out, as well as free coffee and tea 24 hours. My only complaint is the size of the room I stayed is a little to small.

Perfect location

This is a very nice little hotel in a very central location in Boston. We particularly liked the guide book provided to us for use during our stay. Nice room, although a little bit small. Clean and with a stereo, although we missed a refridgerator in our room.

Location and Price!

Located across from the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. By the T (subway system), close to trolley stops, and 3 blocks from Amtrak at Back Bay. I walked to Fenway Park!! You can see Trinity Church from the front of the hotel and front rooms. Reasonable price...in fact lower than the chains. Small rooms, but who needs a lot of space if you are in Boston to sightsee or catch a Red Sox game or visit a child attending one of the 100+ colleges.

Great location if you don't need sleep

The Charlesmark is beautifully appointed and in a great location. The customer service upon arrival was excellent. Unfortunately, our room was on the first floor next to the cocktail lounge. There was a boisterous party going on from 11 p.m. to around 2 a.m. and someone set off the fire alarm. After about 2 hours sleep, the garbage truck stopped right outside our window to pick up garbage and woke us up at 4 a.m. Since we had to wake at 6 a.m. to catch a flight, our overall experience wasn't very restful. I would strongly suggest requesting a room on a different floor of the hotel. Also, the martinis are fabulous!

Great little hotel

Great little hotel. The rooms are sleek and contemporary - and like new! Staff is very accomodating. Restaurant and bar on site, w/ outdoor patio. Computers and printers for guests at no charge and 24 hr access. Perfect location, but Boylston St is busy and very noisy - so ask for a room in the back, not facing the street.

Romantic Getaway

My wife and I stay in Boston every year at Christmas for one night to just get away from it all. We stayed at the Charlesmark in 2007 and returned in 2008 because we liked it so much.... and we will be back in 2009! A tradition as been born! We love this little hotel! The rooms are relatively small, yes, but well appointed and suiting our puposes perfectly. We shop a bit, go out to dinner, have a few drinks and then back to the room to cuddle up. Perfect! The hotel bar has some excellent concoctions if you are into that sort of thing, and the vibe was relaxed and hip when we were there. The location, right in the heart of Copley Square is great, and we were within walking distance of many shops, restaurants and bars even though there was a blizzard going on.

Copley Square dream hotel

The Charlesmark was perfect for my conference at Boston Public Library. A renovated townhouse, the hallways are narrow and winding, with displays of local artistry available for purchase -- a bit of a wonderful change from typical hotel mass production decor scene. Very modern, very compact rooms with tv, vcr, radio, etc. Breakfast was minimal, coffee and a selection of humongous muffins, and other sweets. No low carbs here. Lounge has computers for email checks, and wifi in the rooms. Perfect for that quick overnight trip. Boylston St. is loaded with bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. Great locale, very comfortable all around.
