Created in 1927 by the great hotelier E.M. Statler as a grand American hotel, it was called a "city within a city". Today it takes pride in serving Boston as a destination itself, housing under one roof some of Boston's most famous restaurants and lounges, including Todd English's Bonfire Steakhouse, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and Smith & Wollensky's Steakhouse located in The Castle at Park Plaza, beauty salon/barber shop, Business Center, full-service concierge, fitness center, shoe shine and more.
Enter the hotel's palatial Grand Lobby and you'll experience the grace and warmth that is its signature whether serving Afternoon Tea in Swan's Café or hosting a convention or gala dinner for 2,000.
The hotel was designed for celebrations from its Imperial Ballroom with sparkling crystal chandeliers, gilded balconies and proscenium arch stage accommodating 2,000 to the more intimate setting for 50 in the historic Boston atmosphere of the oak-paneled Hancock Room. The Executive Chef and his staff creatively assist in menus from special requests to kosher catering.

We create sensational dessert experiences at Finale. What exactly does that mean? We use the best ingredients, like Valrhona chocolate and Tahitian vanilla beans. We use them to make the most delicious desserts you've ever eaten. They are also the most beautiful desserts you've ever seen. We treat them like jewels, like works of art. We make them on our dessert plating stage with culinary mirrors overhead, right in the middle of the dining room. We literally roll out the red carpet for you, along with velvet seating, candlelight, and linen napkins
Starting with only the finest ingredients, each dish is slow cooked according to recipes that have been used for generations. MJ's offers a great selection of authentic Irish specialties and a wide variety of drinks including lots of Irish stouts and ales

The perfect choice for a stay in Boston
inimerodio Nov 22, 2009
This hotel was a perfect fit for my business trip purposes. Conviniently located in the Downtown / Theatre Disctrict area, ... close to the Boston Common Park and literally 50 steps away from the closest T-Line Station. The sorroundings are plenty of restaurants and the shopping areas are at less than 5 minutes away by walking, which makes it really nice. I wish I could have a bigger room, though. Anyway, for the price I paid for it I have the feeling that I made the most of my money.

BOGCAT Nov 2, 2009
Having stayed at the Boston Park Plaza many times, we requested a Deluxe King Room. The location is outstanding. While the ... room was ample sized, clean, comfortable, the two miniscule bathrooms were unworkable. Shower curtain liners were "pink" at the bottom indicating mildew. This was definitely not up to the standards of previous visits.

So-so business meeting experience
CF222 Oct 31, 2009
I attended a weeklong business meeting in this hotel and thought their concierge and front desk service was top notch. The ... food was decent and the catering staff was particularly fast and responsive. However, I was annoyed that a housekeeper randomly came into my room one night at 10:30 pm without knocking, and seemingly no explanation. The rooms and meeting space was fine but the group bathroom next to our space was consistently pretty disgusting. The location is wonderful, right next to the Commons and in the middle of several good restaurants. Overall, I'd have to see the price to see if I'd book my own meeting there but it was okay for what it was.

BPP is right in the middle of the theater district and three places you should definitely go either for an evening or after a show are 1) Legal Seafood - wonderful ambiance and mouth watering scallops, stuffed shrimp and lobster tails (about #30-50/dinner); 2) Da Vinci - really cute/romantic with a great three course Italian dinner that you can get for $33 before 6pm - great service, great food and the exectuve chef came out to meet us which was nice; and 3) Finale, a sit down dessert shop/bakery if you want a little more relaxed place to cap off your evening with a piece of tiramisu or a glass of wine. All three are about 1-2 blocks from the hotel.

Hotel is located near the Public Gardens, Theater District, and boutique shopping. The ambiance in the lobby is old-style ... grandeur. Last minute Labor Day weekend night out
HollieGoFrightly Sep 7, 2009
I was able to book my room last minute and extend my checkout time to 2pm which was convenient. I don't know the city that ... well so parking was an issue once I spotted the hotel. I ended up in a nearby garage only to find out that the hotel only has valet. The price, for Boston, was reasonable but for the size of the room and 24 parking it was a bit high. My room was tiny and in some random, dark corner of the hotel. I was annoyed by the Celsius thermostat, which I could not figure out how. Also the bathroom door would not stay open (the bathroom was tiny and I felt claustrophobic brushing my teeth with the door closed!) The hotel is in an excellent location. Lots to do and only a mile from the venue I needed to attend. Probably would not stay here again, but for my last minute excursion it was satisfactory.
