Great hotel!

I had a great stay at the hotel. It was located near the T and right near Fenway! Lots of history... See full review

Built in 1897, the historic Boston Hotel Buckminster was one of the first hotels built in the Boston area. The hotel was designed by renowned architect Stanford White, who also designed the Boston Public Library as well as many of the elegant Back Bay townhouses on Beacon Street. The hotel is located on the triangular intersection of Beacon Street and Brookline Avenue in Boston's Kenmore Square. Today the Boston Hotel Buckminster stands as the "Heart of Kenmore Square", offering 116 guest rooms and suites as Boston's only true Budget Hotel. The Boston Hotel Buckminster's location is second to none in the City of Boston, as it is the closest hotel to both Fenway Park and Boston University. The hotel serves visitors to the Back Bay and Downtown Boston areas year round and provides easy access to the Kenmore Station on Boston's Subway System and is within a short walk to the vast majority of Boston's attractions. Parking is available for a fee.

Great location, great room

Our room was awesome and the staff were all very friendly and nice. The location could not be beat. Very close to the Subway (green line) which took us nearly everywhere we went. Also close to BU which was nice. We had a Jr Suite and it was spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Location

This hotel is a very short walk from Fenway Park and to the Kenmore Station T. The hotel staff were so kind and helpful. The restaurant on site is delicious as well. The furnishings are a little dated, but the comfort and hospitality are exceptional.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Use the T for $19 for a 7 day pass of traveling. Cab fares are quite expensive and the T can take you just about anywhere!

Boston Trip

I booked the trip months in advance. I called a week before the trip just to confirm, and was told it's a room with one single queen bed. Since I was travelling with my daughter that would be awkward. They said a roll-away would be put in the room, I guess that would be ok. When we arrived they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom, sweet !.....all the front staff were always extremely helpful....

Wonderful, old school hotel

What a lovely hotel! There is a beautiful, european-style lobby, all the original architecture. The in-house restaurant is quite good. Rooms have high ceilings, huge windows that actually open! However, its the front desk staff that nails it. They are so friendly, so helpful! Where else can you stay in Boston for about 100$ a night. I love this place!

Need Some Update

My sister and I stayed at the hotel this week. The hotel is at a very convenient location, close to public transportation. There are plenty of restaurants within the vicinity. However, the hotel is definitely outdated. Don't expect a 5 star experience here. Some of the furnitures in the room were damaged, especially the counter top, where you can see the paint peeling off. Overall, it was an ok experience, you should consider it if you don't want to spend a lot of money and want to stay at somewhere close to public transit.

Great location

Great location for visiting boston. Close to T and next to fenway. Comfortable enough. TV small and old. Parking expensive, but not unexpected for Boston. Our room was quiet.

Family Trip

The staff was great! Helpful! Hotel was clean! We enjoyed our stay here very much!! Room was very big. WE had to queen beds in one room and a couch, table and TV in another very large room(Rm 604). I would stay here again! We had a great time in Boston. Also used the Old Town Trolley to get around. Easy to get to from airport on the subway. They were great also! I would highly suggest this hotel for a family vacation!!!

Great value and location for Boston stay

Stayed here for the first time - impressed with the great value as well as easy access to all that Boston has to offer. Reminds me of the hotels I have stayed in on a recent trip to Europe. Included breakfast in the morning offered a great start to the day.
