It was a good location.
Went to the Peach Festival. There was really nothing missing. The continental breakfast could have been better. I would give this a 6.

Don't understand the good reviews
I booked this hotel because a lot of people online basically stated that it was a good hotel for the money. Maybe my standards are just higher? I mean, The location was sketchy but I didn't mind that too much. The guy at the check in desk was new and couldn't handle third party bookings, but again I didn't care about that, I understand that happens. But the room wasn't just lacking in amenities or anything. It was literally just disgusting. I could tell the linens hadn't been changed - the fitted sheet was settled into the curvature of the top of the mattress. There was black stuff (perhaps mascara) smeared on the pillows. There were small stains in the very center of the fitted sheet...I'll let you put two and two together on that one. There were half a dozen flies in my room. There was a fly carcass on the bath mat. There was a washcloth over the smoke detector (what?). The curtain was partially ripped from the hangers. The tub was dirty. Just everything about it was gross and/or sketchy. I literally called my next hotel to ask if I could check in early because I literally couldn't stand to be there anymore. Oh and side note - I ordered Pizza Hut for dinner and it was disgusting, I think the cheese might have been old.

A cheap hotel, despite the veneer
When I checked in I was given a room with a King bed instead of two twins as I had requested (and paid for) on Orbitzzz. I was too distracted at the time by a sick kid to care and get it taken care of. This is actually pretty common with the cheaper motels in my experience. They often don't bother checking what kind of room you had reserved and just pick one at random for you. The hotel itself was so-so. The room wasn't filthy, but it wasn't the cleanest, either. You could tell that there had been some remodeling done, but it wasn't obviously done by the cheapest bidder. There was tile and marble panels in the bathroom, but it looked put in sloppy. Stuff wasn't straight. The bathroom light flickered and buzzed. The door didn't even have a lock and looked pretty flimsy. The staff was okay. Though I did have issues during checkout. I had only booked the room for one night on Orbitzzz, but asked for an extension because I didn't want to travel yet with a sick kid. That led to some confusion during checkout, which took a good long time. They were careful enough to make sure I wasn't double charged (I had prepaid on Orbitzzz for the first night), but it took forever. The hotel is next to a Pizza Hut and across from a gas station and convenience store. There are a few more amenities around, but I didn't get out much on this trip. Overall, I wouldn't tell anyone not to go there. Just don't expect too much.

Good for the price
I was here in Ruston on business. The room was fine for the amount I paid. The only issue I had was that the toilet didnt work. The lady at the desk went ahead and gave me an additional spare room next door to my room so I could use toilet there. So it all worked out.

N/A
When I arrived at the hotel, they didn't have my reservation as previously confirmed with the hotel staff after placing it online. They wouldn't honor my online special that I presented to them when I arrived after 6 1/2 hrs, of traveling to their location. Staff stated they had a ice-maker, but they didn't have a ice-maker at all. I had to pay more then I was quoted and wasn't happy and the front desk staff was sitting down watching TV and wasn't friendly upon check-in. A digital camera was lost in one of their rooms and they stated they didn't find anything left behind and when I spoke to the owner by phone, he seemed unconcerned and when I asked him for a reduction in price that was paid for all of the inconveniences, he said he would call me back and he never once did. I had to call him several times and after talking to him the lat time, he declined to do anything about the price that was paid. This was my first visit to Ruston, LA. and it wasn't a very good experience with the hotel staff and owner over the phone. I wouldn't recommend anyone visit here.

Super location, great price, bad smell
We attended our daughters La Tech graduation. We were missing a coffee pot in our room and the odor was strong and offensive. We did appreciate the cost efficiency

This had the friendliest staff ever. The motel is old and in poor repair but it was a great value for the price anyway.

Nice for the price and location
I visited LA Tech during my stay. The room was clean and a nice size. The grounds seemed a little trashy with beer cans and a big trash can out side my room. The room smelled funny and was musty. It was good for the money and located right off the highway. The breakfast was a joke, cold cereal and juice. Overall not bad for the price. I would stay here again.

Short drive from hotel
Check with the hotel for direction, some gps don't have all the new streets and it may send you down the wrong one way.
