Nice room, Convenient
People at the front desk were very helpful, quick walk (1 block) to Bourbon street action, very nice newly remodeled room. Still remodeling common areas of hotel and had some construction type noise when we were in the room during typical working hours.

Good location, good price
We were in New Orleans for a wedding and stayed in a 2 double beds room at the Baronne Plaza. When we first drove up, it was not immediately obvious where to pull up or park the car, since the street around the hotel and the hotel itself were under construction. Good thing there were 2 of us so one person could stay with the car in a no-parking zone on Baronne while another went to check in. Parking is not guaranteed but there was a space available in the hotel's garage at about $23 per night. When I walked into the lobby I was apprehensive about the quality of the hotel. Many areas were roped off or plastic covered, bundles were stacked up against the walls, and it generally looked dusty and unkept. The hotel's attached restaurant was also closed, adding to the unpleasant feeling. However, once in our room, the unpleasant feeling went away--the beds were comfortable, the furniture and fixtures were new and nice, and everything was spotlessy clean. The staff was also very pleasant. Great location--after a night on Bourbon, only a few blocks walk back to the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel if you don't need a fancy lobby or valet parking.

Clean and tidy, short stroll to CBD
Great hotel (pity it was being rennovated downstairs but no effect or noise to us on the 5th floor). Staff were excellent, one of them gave us some dinner discount tickets at a really nice restaurant for our anniversary. 7 minute walk to the main tramline to go anywhere, 8 minute walk to Bourban St. The rooms were clean and tidy, no-one disturbed and the place looked very new. Reccomend staying here

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Go and get the multiday pass for the tram if you are planning on spending a few days. You can jump on or off as many times as you like for $5 per day! The place to buy the multipass was a little hard to find, but any of the shops on teh corner of the main tram line and Bourban will point it out... 2 minute walk

Great service, great beds!
Hotel had great service, everything was brand new and very comfortable. It will be gorgeous when finished- however, the lobby was under construction during our stay and it felt like we were the only ones there midweek! A little unsettling when we approached the front door with the Do not enter sign! (we had to enter further down the street). The restaraunt, bar & gym were also not open d/t construction. I think they should have offered a discount on the room since the usual amenities were not available yet. Basically all you could do there was sleep, but it was spotless and quiet despite the construction. I would definitely recommend this hotel after the summer of 2009,it should be finished by then.

sign up for the many tours available at the front desk- our favorite was the swamp tour and the ghost/cemetary tour. All of the tourguides were very knowledgeable in the history of New Orleans and surrounding areas.

Great Hotel
The hotel wasn't far at all from bourbon st,I walked to everything the riverwalk, casino, and the french market. The room was just like the picture i loved it so much i stayed in one day and just relaxed in bed and the bed was very comfortable! Everyone at the front desk were very friendly! The only thing that would have made it a little better was if they had internet service but they didn't. Everytime i go to New Orleans i will stay at this hotel!!

Will Be An A+ Hotel After Renovations
My overall stay at Baronne Plaza was great. The staff was great and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. The only thing that was disappointing was the outside presentation. They are under renovation and you can vividly see once it is complete is will be a magnificant hotel. I can say that even with the renovations the hotel was very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel for an affordable vacation stay, I am more than sure the prices will increase once renovations are finished

Bourbon street is only a few blocks over from the hotel. Also the hotel staff recommended the best tradition New Orlean resturant Oceana, you must try it. Located off Bourbon St.
