Hotel Average
I satyed at the W in New Orleans and this is NOT like the other W's around the country. The hotel is clean but dark and the rooms need an update. The safe did not work and the charm and feel of luxury were not part of the experience. The front desk clerk mentionee the free car service which would have been great and i sadi i will book it now and she said it was full for the night.... why mention somthing that is a benefit that could not be used because it was booked. I would book another hotel in the future for stay in New Orleans.

Average hotel
Good location, overall average hotel. Disappointed that the gym was closed for renovations. Understandable due to the storm, but wish I had known before I gone down.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference and enjoyed my stay. No major complaints and the staff were very hospitable and friendly. Great location to Harrah's, walking distance to French quarter, Bourbon street and its craziness as well as the convention center/riverwalk. Would stay here again. There's an Acura shuttle program which I didn't take advantage of this time.

best staff ever!
the main thing that stands out about the W New Orleans is the staff. friendly, fast, courteous, and just down right good people. they hold nothing back when it comes to catering to the visitor. the second thing is the location of this hotel by far is one of the best in new orleans, short walk (5-10 mins) will get you to all downtown attractions

Great for Business or Pleasure
The room was nice although overstocked with very expensive bottled water, snacks and alcohol - it was unnecessary because you're located in the heart of everything. It is worth mentioning that the staff is fantastic - they were extremely helpful with the suggestions and very polite.

Check out CW Fins off of Burbon street. My wife and I had a great time. There is a dress code though - so dress up a bit.

Not as good as it used to be
Great location as you are next door to Mothers (can't miss eating experience) and 3 blocks from French Quarter and the Riverwalk Convention Center. I have stayed at this W numerous times over the years. The bar and 2nd floor lounge are great. Hotel staff is great. My complaints are small rooms which have virtually no ventilation so rooms get humid and stuffy. NO drawers to put clothes in. Great beds but ac/heat a bit on noisy side and walls paper thin.
