Character, Cozy and Quiet
My fiancƩ and I stayed in one of their queen bed rooms for the JazzFest (my company had a shuttle scheduled just down the street.) We picked it for the location, the decent reviews we found online and the uniqueness of the hotel (it was formerly a bank.) The staff was extremely friendly and responsive. The room and bathroom were clean, cozy and inviting. It was generally quiet (didn't hear people in other rooms). One thing we noticed is that the layout of the furniture and the amount of furniture in the room does make it feel a bit cramped. The desk has a nice Herman Miller chair, but the desk is so close to the bed, I don't see how anyone would want to sit there for long periods of time. The cafƩ right around the corner was a great plus. Overall, it was a bit overpriced but worth it given our needs, friendly service and the relative proximity to Bourbon street.

Lover of New Orleans
Stay somewhere else
I have been to New Orleans many times and always enjoy the city. But not the hotel this time. There was a funny smell in the hotel, the desk clerks were rude , all of them. When we arrived we waited a few minutes to be checked in while the clerk talked on the phone about the easter bunny and some new clothing she had to pick up. They charge a fee to your room for the newspaper , but dont tell you! The temperature control in the room fell off the wall when we tried to turn it on, there is not business center for computer use or to print tickets or maps and they cant print for you at the desk. Upon checkout I was asked to hold on with an attitude while yet another clerk finished her conversation on the phone. the bed and very small room were nice but thats all I can say was ok.

It is an OK hotel
This hotel charges a fee on almost everything (eg. local calls, internet, parking etc.). You can just park your car accross the street for a much lower rate. The building looks very old, and the room is very small. I can hear noise from street at night.

The price is right
Went on a little vacation down to New Orleans with my girl. The hotel was very comfortable. The King sized bed was very comfy. The room had to be air conditioned non stop due to the weather (humid as hell). The front desk was very helpful with our requests. They had given us advice on local restaurants and stores without trouble. Upon request they gave us a mini fridge free of charge. There is a restaurant in the hotel as well, the food was average, but the service was not up to par. The waiter didn't speak up and presented himself like he didn't gave a darn about doing his job. When the check was asked for he decided it was time to watch the last 2 minutes of the NBA playoffs. Which most NBA fans know it takes longer than 2 minutes with all the timeouts and fouls!

Very Nice; Good location
My wife and I went to Mardi Gras 2011 and stayed at the Whitney. The hotel is very clean, well taken care of, and was in a great location. It was a short enough walk to the bars and craziness but far enough away to escape from the madness. Cafes were in easy walking distance and was a very enjoyable time.

WHITNEY AT NEW ORLEANS
The room was too small, nice bath, old tv,bath towels too hard to use. The over charge for parking $ 38.oo a day without telling us in advance, we spend more than $ 430 for an old hotel, we could stay in a better place for the same price. I do not recomend it.

Ok...
Eh, the stay was fine. The bed was very comfortbale, but I originally had to change rooms because the first one had problems with the air conditioning. They had a tube TV in the room, and the picture was clearly about to go out (it had problems every other time I turned it on). They served breakfast in their hotel restaurant, but had nothing for free. The toilet was also really noisy. I slept fine, and the staff was very courteous, but the room itself was nothing to write home about. Also, they had an iron in the room, but no ironing board. It was good for a cheap hotel and all I really needed it for was sleeping and bathing, so it served its purpose well.
