Decent downtown accomodations
Room was very small, but comfortable. Very difficult to figure out channels on TV, no guide that I could find. Hotel is not well marked, if you drive there yourself watch CLOSELY, passed the place on first go around. Also, be prepared to pay $30 for parking. $22 if you park yourself in the city lot across the street. This price increases to $30 the night before and the night of a football game. Hotel is within easy walking distance of French Quarter!

Lovely and Enjoyable
My wife and I spent a single night at the Whitney Wyndham was both comfortable and enjoyable. Our room was tastefully decorated, quiet and comfortable. The only quirk that I warn you about is that there were three steps down into the room between the bathroom and the rest of the room, which makes a middle-of-the-night walk to the bathroom a bit more exciting than usual. The restaurant was average - nothing special. The staff was accommodating and professional throughout our stay.

Unless you are truly strapped for time, skip the restaurant -- very average food and the decor lacked imagination.

Convenient to Superdome
Nicely appointed hotel in the CBD. Convenient to Federal courthouse and businesses. We were in town for a Saints game and it is very convenient to the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Just a short 6 block walk! Also a short walk to Canal Street, Riverwalk, and the French Quarter. Only negative was the $30 a day parking fee, but it is right downtown and parking is limited.

Nice night
From the moment I arrived at The Whitney Wyndham I felt welcomed. The staff person at check-in was pleasant and helpful. My room was nice and I loved the choice of complimentary teas since I am not a coffee drinker. The staff was helpful in pointing me in the right direction to see the wonderful French Quarter of New Orleans, and at the end of my stay they took my bags and carried them to the hotel shuttle for me and waved goodbye as I headed out to the airport for my trip home. I loved my experience at The Whitney Wyndham and will definitely pay them another visit.

Disgusting Rooms
Day1 floors filthy, I asked them to clean, they said sure, nothing happened. Day 2 I asked again since there was food (i.e. oysters, bread crumbs, and chicken crumbs) all over the floor, they said sure. Nothing happened. On day 3, I walked down to the front desk and asked to have the floors cleaned asap; the manager made a call and assured me that when I got back the floors would be clean. Day four, the floors were still dirty. The manager looked confused. She apologized and gave me free lunch vouchers, but i came to New Orleans to eat authentic food, not dirty hotel food. Was there for 4 days and they didnt clean the floors once. I walked around with shoes or socks the whole time. i suggest you do the same.

Great Stay in New Orleans
This hotel is very conveniently located near to Canal Street and close to the French Quarter. The rooms were beautiful with all amenities and the beds comfy. The staff were v. friendly & accommodating and the room rates are good value for money. Unfortunately no parking at the hotel but a good car park almost opposite with reasonable rates for NOLA. Definitely worth the stay.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
Plenty of 'happy hour' offers on Bourbon street. Ask the price of a single drink first! Some are 3 for one but one can cost 8+dollars at one place and only 3 at another. Voodoo 2 is good.

Girl's Getaway
The Wyndham is located in a very good spot for access to multiple sight-seeing areas. We stayed for 5 days and did not plan to rent a car, and the Wyndham's location helped make this possible. There are no real amenities in the hotel- (no pool, gym, continental breakfast, business area, etc.) so those were a little missed. The rooms were decent and comfortable, but definitely could use a serious upgrade. There are mismatching carpets, peeling wallpaper, and worn (if not broken) furniture in the rooms. The restaurant off the lobby is not very inviting and never busy. Also, the hotel provides wireless, but when linking up, the page says your room will be charged. We called the front desk and they just said to click okay, there is no charge. This was a little confusing and should have been posted for easier customer use. Overall, we had a fine stay, but will probably try something different next time.

Couldn't ask for much more.
Great value. Great location. Daily parking is a little high compared to other options in the area, but over all I was really happy with my stay.

Money-saving tip:
Short drive from hotel
Park uptown in a neighborhood somewhere, and take the Streetcar on St. Charles Ave for $1.25 to the French Quarter. Cheaper than paying parking.

Vacation
The hotel was great, good location, near to everything. Enjoyed the night life, the casino, and Bourbon Street. Due to the heavy rain, the nights could have been better, But, it was FUN. The shopping and dining was great.
