Safe location
The Westin Canal Place is close to the river walk and the french quarters. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The room elevators were only accesible with a room key which made us feel more secure in New Orleans.

Canal Place is a shopping mall on the 1st and 2nd floors with a starbucks and movie theater.

Parking Problems
The hotel was wonderful in all asects, especially location. It was close enough to the French Quarter, The Riverview shops, Canal Street, and other great spots. The only downside was the parking. The hotel does not own the parking lot so it was quite expensive if you want to use your car each day. Too bad the hotel does not own the parking lot. Too bad the parking lot does not want to work up a better deal with the hotel.

THERE IS A REALLY GOOD MOVIE THEATER AND LOTS OF GREAT SHOPS IN THE HOTEL BUILDING . . . JUST AN ELEVATOR RIDE AWAY.

Awesome hotel!
I've traveled to the French Quarter several times and had always wanted to stay at the Westin. However, the rooms were usually out of my price range. I took a chance for a special occasion and booked a room. Everything was positive. The view of the river and the Quarter was spectacular. I will definitely treat myself to staying here again.

Perfect!!!
As first-time visitors to Jazz Fest, the location was perfect for ease of transportation to and from the festival. We've always enjoyed the view of the Mississippi at this hotel. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, which made it a wonderful experience.

Excellent - could not have been better
Staff were perfect,room with a river view excellent -clean ,everything we needed. The Westin is superior to the other 4 & 5 star hotels that we have stayed at in New Orleans

Great location, decent price
We walked through the French Quarter , through the mall downstairs, and to the casino across the street. We had a great view of the river and the French Quarter.
