A great jumping off point

The Westin is a great place to stay for a weekend in New Orleans. Most importantly, it is situated in a great spot: Right across the street from Harrah's Casino and a short walk to the French Quarter. It's clean, comfortable, and the staff was great.

Location, location, location

I can't say enough about the great location of this hotel. It puts you right in the action and in the heart of the French Quarter experience. We were in short walking distance to all the great sites of New Orleans. Very easy access to all major venues such as the Super Dome. Easy in, easy out. Good staff. The only negative I have is that our room was not set up with new towels, shampoo and other needs on the second day. However, I will stay at this location again.

weekend getaway

great location easy walking distance to shop and trolly car stops. Movie theatre was big plus.

If you crave a good steak look no futher than Morton's Steak House in Canal Place. Great food as well as great service.

skip Landrys which is just across the parking lot (just average food). Head into the Quarters for some good LA food.

Great location, decent price

We walked through the French Quarter , through the mall downstairs, and to the casino across the street. We had a great view of the river and the French Quarter.

Excellent - could not have been better

Staff were perfect,room with a river view excellent -clean ,everything we needed. The Westin is superior to the other 4 & 5 star hotels that we have stayed at in New Orleans

Not bad, Not great for a Westin

Only spent a night there. The rooms were showing their age a bit, especially the bathrooms. The furniture in the rooms and the lobby(specifically) the chairs had stains on it. I've stayed at Westins before and had only the best experiences, so I'm chalking this one up to an aberration. Won't be staying at this hotel again though. Great views and staff was quite friendly.

It's New Orleans, and it's quite close to the french quarter. We ate at Emeril's restaurant NOLA, and loved it, but there are so many other good options too.
