A stately lobby greets guests with marble floor, Persian rug and leather couch. The 60 guest rooms are decorated in classic European style with four-poster beds and thick drapes. The location's history dates back to 1719 when Jean Baptist Lemoyne de Bienville, the founder of New Orleans, was granted a plantation on this spot.

Great location, cute place

The front desk staff were very pleasant and welcoming! The hotel was modest, only 4 floors but rooms had high ceilings and a vintage feel. Right downstairs is the Ruby Slipper--a nice breakfast/brunch place. Location was great because it was far enough away from the crazies but everything was walking distance. The House of Blues is literally down the street across Canal St which was perfect for our trip. Overall, it was easy to find yourself back after a night on Bourbon St.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you want a nice Hookah bar and cheap drinks/Mediterranean food, I recommend Attiki bar (I think it's called) it's right across the street from House of Blues, which is just across Canal St from the hotel. :)

Location and Staff

Only problem we had was that the bed was hard and old. You could feel the springs.

Loved my room

The room was fabulous with tall ceilings and a 4-post bed with traditional step stool. The linens were so soft and the bed very comfortable. My only concern was the woman at the desk was unenthusiastic. I was early to check in (1:00pm) but she would not check with housekeeping to see if they could prepare my single room since I was waiting. I thought customer service meant doing what you can to ensure excellent service. This did not happen. And coffee is only available in the morning so I had to go next door to the restaurant and buy a cup. Not cool. But my room was great!

Great location, kind of pricey

Nice hotel. Did not have prior parking information- either valet underground for $30 a night with the ability to move car, or $15 a day across the street unable to move without paying another $15. Willing to pay the price for the location. Friendly staff.

Nice

If you're into the historical look, this hotel is the one. The bed was quite comfy, i just found it to be a little inconvenient to not have a vending machine on the same floor i was on. There is no microwave or fridge in the room, in which I'm assuming due to the age of the building. But it was a nice place, clean, bathroom has enough space for 2 to get dressed at the same time. Would stay there again

Sweet Little Hotel

I chose the Pelham for its proximity to the French Quarter, Convention Center, and streetcar and bus lines. It worked out beautifully. Close enough but not on the busy main drag or in the all-the-time busy Quarter. Only going to get better--new management is taking the little bit of shabby out of the hotel, making it fresh and still classic in appearance.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Don't miss the free concerts at the National Jazz Historic Park behind the French Market. One almost every day, different times of day, informal, but always good.

We were looking to be close to all the action and this hotel was perfect. 10 min walk to bourbon street. Tall ceilings, clean rooms, and a neat place overall. Would recommend.
