Quick Business Stay

I stayed here for only a single night as I was in and out for business pretty quickly. I would not recommend this hotel. While it was in a great location, particularly for Mardi Gras events, most other elements were disappointing. The decor seemed lacking, good idea to go a bit hipster, but everything looked haphazard. The mattress was sunk down in the middle and would be uncomfortable if more than owner person was sleeping there. The room did not have an iron/ironing board. I requested these items and the staff was quick to bring them, but the iron had junk melted on it. I had to request a second iron and the staff was again quick. I was appreciative of the in-room keurig, but found only decaf coffee options upon waking. Again, I called down to the front desk and they promptly brought additional options. After showering, I found that the blow-dryer was broken. So, again, I called down to the front for a replacement. This time the service was very slow. It took an hour for them to bring the blow dryer causing me to have to leave for work events with wet hair. Very unsatisfactory! Besides this, the bathroom was too dim for make-up application. If you want a place on Lee circle for Mardi Gras, but have no other standards, this might be the place for you. If you expect certain other amenities, maybe look elsewhere.

Nice, small room, great service

The room is nice, but small and minimalistic. I think that is what the "modern" is code for. The service was great. Very helpful, great attitudes.

Not bad

Small, boutique feel. Rooms small and minimal but clean. Bathrooms are nice. Location was good, close to Julia street and walk to French Quarter. Staff was pleasant. Restaurant was delicious.

Horrible Experience

I stayed here for 5 nights and had to move to a different room twice! 1st room: Light was emitting a loud buzzing sound, shampoo/conditioner rack was broken so I couldn't squeeze content out (showered the first night w/o shampoo and conditioner). Lastly, found an opened soda bottle in the mini frig!! Gross!!! 2nd room: People next door was loud and inconsiderate. At 1am, they were partying as if it was their own home. I had to wake up early next morning for a conference so I had to call and request to move to another room. Again, packed all my belongings and moved out. 3rd room: Everything was actually good, except the bathroom faucet drain was clogged up. Next time I'm in NOLA, I think I would book something better.

Good hotel, little bit far, nice bar

The hotel is nice and clean, everything is neat, but simple. A little bit far away from all the bars and convention center. But there are 2 bars inside the hotel.

Nice hotel in nice location - good value

I enjoyed my stay. The staff is very nice, the hotel is located in a good spot to downtown museums, and the price was right. However they seemed to be going through a management change...while I got there at 9 - room was not ready till 10 because of laundry, towels for my room didn't arrive till 11 one night, and the halls had the same trash in them 3 days in a row. Given that the bar tender was nice, the front desk, helpful and everyone friendly. Also the small room is truely small.

Good conference hotel

Overall it was a good position for the conference a short work to the convention area. Staff very helpful. Room was a little noisy for me with the constant drone of the air conditioning unit. Restaurant and bar very good excellent food.

Not centrally located but great bar and restaurant

Pros: -Lovely boutique hotel -Close to the convention center -Excellent bar and restaurant (Tivoli & Lee; Bellaoq) -Friendly bellhops and front desk staff -Friendly parrot roams the front desk and lobby! Cons: -Can't check in before 3 PM -Not close to the French Quarter or downtown area; cabs are a must -Tiny rooms and shower - I had to call more than once when ordering room service or toiletries -Advertises complimentary wine and water at front desk, but either wasn't there or no glasses.

Very pleasant place

I was very happy with this hotel. Stayed there for a conference. It is in walking distance to the French Quarter and the Convention Center. The rooms are a bit small, but equipped with all you need and nicely set-up. Staff is very welcoming and nice, and they have a great breakfast

Great place; super streetcar access to Canal/Bourbon St.

Really liked the modern renovation which was done well, smooth plaster work, professionally painted, decorated w/ nice touches if you like modern, but also some old paintings. Staff were top notch, friendly & effortful like they were personally invested in the success of the hotel & customer satisfaction. hard to find employees like that! Neat parrot in lobby. I was on 9th floor w/ decent view. Street cars go right up to the circle the hotel is on - VERY convenient ($1.25 trip / $3 all day, but best deal is to buy a week or 5 day pass I think at the drug stores (not available on streetcar). Cars are 1800s I'm told, stilll running. Stop on Canal (Main drag) right near start of Bourbon St. FEATHER beds are nice too!

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

The Palace Cafe on Canal, near St. Charles intersection was great, sort of upscale old Diner motif, but very good staff, food, atmosphere. Great import beers for sale individually, etc. at good price on Decatur. Frenchman St. has nightlife, & is less "college drunks", more locals probably, but fewer restaurants than Bourbon/Canal
