Family wedding

The staff and amenities were fine. Access was difficult and I expected to be closer to the French Quarter.

Great location but understaffed for events

I went during Mardi Gras weekend and they were severely understaffed. The rooms were fairly clean and the beds were extremely comfortable.

Simple, but nice

The whole concept of this hotel is elegant simplicity. They have a wonderful staff, but It could use a little "polishing." There is no iron or ironing board in the room, and the color schemes are a little drab. The elevator is a little dark and it is scary that you can walk off the street at 2:00 and there is no code or lock, and there is no one at the "makeshift" front desk. Lastly, you have great access to the street car and the garden district, however you are too far from the French Quarter and Borbon Street if that's what you want to see. Overall, still a nice hotel.

Lovely location for authentic New Orleans

Overall I enjoyed my stay for a one night trip. The staff was friendly and the feel of the hotel is nice. The room was could have used more cleaning concerning the bed. There were stains on the pillow cases and fuzz in the bed when covers where pushed back. The location is perfect and far enough from the bourbon riff raff.

simple but ok.

The hotel changed it´s name, so it was not to find at the first attempt. But there was a friendly staff waiting outside to catch the guests who got astray. The first View was quite nice - a small and personally looking hotel. Staff at the reception was also extraordinary friendly. The Hotel seemed to be under new and young management here and there on the floors not finished but quite clean. 10 Minutes walk to Burbon Street was ok for me. The Room was also ok, comfortable king size bed, but had only a small window. My grade of room comfort is caused by a noisy maschine which startes running outside somewhere on the floor every few minutes. In total it is a quite good Hotel if you don´t need special luxury. But in case of the comfort the rate was little to high.

A nice place, but at least one "miss" every day

The hotel is nice and the location is convenient to the streetcar system. The stop is just a block away. Taxis to/from the French Quarter will be under $10 each way. Every day that we stayed (3 nights) had a minor error that was easily fixed, but could have been eliminated with better oversight. For example, we were given a nice coffee pot, but no cups. A call to the front desk, and we had cups 10 minutes later. On the second night, we discovered that we had no towels. Once again, a call to the front desk and we hotels in 10 minutes. On the third night, we experienced technical difficulties with our room key cards and had to make three trips downstairs to get the problem resolved so that we could enter out room. Overall, the hotel was fine and the staff was very nice, but at an average price of $165 per night, it wasn't the best value in town.

First Getaway!

Most important, the bed was to die for!!! My fiance and I had the best sleep of our lives before and after a night on Bourbon street. The location was far enough from the noise but walking distance from all the entertainment New Orleans has to offer. The price was reasonable. I only wish we would have been more informed about different parking prices due to a high price on valet. This was our first trip as a couple and we can't wait to go back and visit The Hotel Modern New Orleans!

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

Make sure to stop by Decatur St. to watch the acrobatic show of four humorous men flipping and jumping over people. It was about a 30min show and a nice break from walking.

Good hotel, little bit far, nice bar

The hotel is nice and clean, everything is neat, but simple. A little bit far away from all the bars and convention center. But there are 2 bars inside the hotel.

Interesting

Very unique hotel. Both stylish and comfortable. My negative to take from it is that it seemed understaffed and getting help at the front desk or valet can sometimes be complicated.
