Meh

The hotel looked charming on the website, and although it is not too bad when you get there, after the first night we realized it was not a four star hotel. When they made the room, they forgot to take out the trash, restack toilet paper and although we did not ask for new towels (they say they have that green approach), they took our old towels and didn't leave enough in their place. We weren't sure how many nights we'd be staying, but when we wanted to check for availability for another night or two, they said they'd get back to us but didn't. Also, the description in the app says there is a spa, well, there isn't. And parking was very problematic. On the upside, their soaps smell great!

Great Labor Day Weekend

Staff at this place are wonderful! Only if other hotels had these type of workers. The hotel is unique and upscale for a very reasonable price. The location was perfect as we could get on the street car out front and in 5 minutes be on canal st. Quiet rooms, low traffic and walking places is no problem. This will be my Favorite hotel to stay in New Orleans for sure!

A nice place, but at least one "miss" every day

The hotel is nice and the location is convenient to the streetcar system. The stop is just a block away. Taxis to/from the French Quarter will be under $10 each way. Every day that we stayed (3 nights) had a minor error that was easily fixed, but could have been eliminated with better oversight. For example, we were given a nice coffee pot, but no cups. A call to the front desk, and we had cups 10 minutes later. On the second night, we discovered that we had no towels. Once again, a call to the front desk and we hotels in 10 minutes. On the third night, we experienced technical difficulties with our room key cards and had to make three trips downstairs to get the problem resolved so that we could enter out room. Overall, the hotel was fine and the staff was very nice, but at an average price of $165 per night, it wasn't the best value in town.

Great Couples Hotel

The room was clean, fresh and inviting, the bed was comfortable and the linens and towels are excellent quality. It's a great location, there's an excellent restaurant and bar in the lobby, and it's far enough enough from bourbon street to skip the craziness, but close enough to be there if you want. BUT... This is not the hotel for someone who likes a Marriott courtyard, or a Best Western.. It's chic, and it's geared for people who vacation off the beaten path. While the staff was very friendly, they were also very hands off. They're more than happy to help you out if you need something, but if you don't you'll hardly notice that they're there at all. If you want something nice and out of the ordinary, and you're the type of traveler who likes to hang with the locals instead of the tourists, this is the place for you.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Carmo.. A Brazilian based edgy restaurant with some really nice vegetarian options, and some meat.. It's the perfect place to go when you've had enough deep fried (albeit awesome) cajun fare.. Be sure to try the Passion Fruit Mousse, it was spectacular.

Tiny room & very expensive valet

The valet is very expensive ($40) per day. The hotel can charge whatever they want because there is no public parking lot close by. My room is 155 square feet with no windows. It was like sleeping in a match box. My suitcase took up the little available walking space by the bed. The room was clean though.
