Overnight stay

The hotel is kinda on the dark and weird side. No one is there to greet you. Your credit card is taken to the back out of your view to complete the transaction. Then, your room key is given to you. The hotel staff lacks friendliness, and their non-inviting. The room is cute & unique! It was decent, fit for two people. Overall, hotel is cool, the staff needs to work customer service. It would make this hotel a plus!

Great Couples Hotel

The room was clean, fresh and inviting, the bed was comfortable and the linens and towels are excellent quality. It's a great location, there's an excellent restaurant and bar in the lobby, and it's far enough enough from bourbon street to skip the craziness, but close enough to be there if you want. BUT... This is not the hotel for someone who likes a Marriott courtyard, or a Best Western.. It's chic, and it's geared for people who vacation off the beaten path. While the staff was very friendly, they were also very hands off. They're more than happy to help you out if you need something, but if you don't you'll hardly notice that they're there at all. If you want something nice and out of the ordinary, and you're the type of traveler who likes to hang with the locals instead of the tourists, this is the place for you.

Carmo.. A Brazilian based edgy restaurant with some really nice vegetarian options, and some meat.. It's the perfect place to go when you've had enough deep fried (albeit awesome) cajun fare.. Be sure to try the Passion Fruit Mousse, it was spectacular.

Great Experience Overall

Great experience. The staff was very helpful with recommendations to restaurants and activities. They went above and beyond on personal service. The hotel has a very non-traditional approach to check-in/ check-out procedure. There really isn't a front desk but the staff are always around to answer any questions or help in any way. The one thing I didn't like was that the air conditioning in the room is motion detection activated. So at night while you are still it turns off and can get warm rather quickly. You wake up hot and have to wave an arm or a leg to turn it back on. It is very energy conscious but inefficient cooling system.

Great for couples looking for a value getaway

We loved this place. It's perfect for a weekend in New Orleans, located right between Uptown and the French Quarter. You can't beat this location in the St. Charles roundabout. Plus, the service is excellent, and the hotel is very charming and unique. If you're looking for a place to crash for a week with the kids, this may not be the place though. The valet parking is $25/night, and the rooms are cozier, so it's really just perfect for a couple on a short stay - with or without a pet.
