The Blake Hotel New Orleans, an Ascend Hotel Collection Member

The reason for my stay in New Orleans was for a family member's wedding. Was told by Valet parking attendant and front desk that it would take 15 minutes to get my vehicle. After waiting an hour it still did not show. Was given two different reasons for the delay. Long story short, i missed the wedding. Other family members stayed at different hotels in the area and had no problems gettting their vehicles. Ended up not having to pay for parking after making a scene in front of the hotel. Also if you like a hot shower do not stay here. Water would not get above lukewarm.

CHECK IN WAS GREAT, I WAS ABLE TO GET IN MY ROOM 2 HOURS BEFORE CHECK-IN TIME. THE RIVERWALK IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE HOTEL. HAVE A GREAT TIME.

We had a great stay for the weekend. The hotel was literally within walking distance of everything: within blocks of bourbon street and a doable walk to the French Quarter as well. The hotel itself was average but the location is what makes this hotel special.

This hotel was described as recently renovated. When I checked in, I mentioned this to the front desk clerk. She said that they were putting the finishing touches on some of the rooms. The first room I was given was totally unacceptable - dirty carpet with numerous tears, cigarette burns on the bathroom counter, gaping hole in the closet where the non-functional safe had been installed. After complaining, I was given a very small room that was in better condition. However, the bathroom wallpaper was peeling, and there was significant corrosion on the ceiling. I had paid in full prior to checking into the hotel. The clerk initially tried to charge me again for the full stay. When I presented paperwork showing the payment, she said that she needed to see my credit card for incidental charges. When I checked out, I confirmed that my bill was paid in full. However, I subsequently received a duplicate charge on my credit card for the hotel stay and an additional charge for some other item which I did not purchase. When I called the hotel, they acknowledged the errors and said that a credit would be promptly issued. Instead, they charged my credit card again for the hotel stay. I have spent hours trying to resolve the billing problem.

The hotel's location is very good, convenient to every part for meeting, food and sight seeing. Te equipment and cleanliness need some improvement. Overall, it was good stay there.

room was very small, bathroom small no space or vanity to set personal items.Was in the right location for event we were attending. Would not stay there again more like 2 star staff at desk not pleasant door person excellent

This hotel was described as being "modern" and recently renovated. At check in, I was told that the hotel was just completing some finishing touches to the renovation. In the first room I was given, the carpet was filthy, with numerous tears. Although it is a non-smoking hotel, there was a large cigarette burn on the cheap bathroom counter. The wall safe did not work, and had been installed into a gaping hope in the closet, without being plastered into place. After a long discussion with a very pleasant front desk clerk and the maintenance man, I was given a very small room which was in much better condition. Although the wallpaper was peeling off the bathroom wall and there were obvious signs of corrosion on the bathroom ceiling, the carpet was clean, and the bedding seemed relatively new. Frankly, the helpful attitude of the staff was the only thing which prevented me from contacting the booking agent to request an immediate change to another hotel.
