Vacay for the Kiddos

I took my 6, 8, 8, & 9 year olds to New Orleans to the aquarium, imax theater, and the zoo. The room was huge, very comfortable, and very nice. It was just a short walk to the aquarium and imax and close to some great restaurants. The staff were super friendly and they had an awesome breakfast every morning! I highly recommend this hotel, it's not near the French Quarter but that wasn't where we needed to be, but it's not a bad walk if you did want to go!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, reasonably priced

When we first arrived, we weren't sure what to expect because the area is undergoing urban renewal with some boarded up buildings and road work going on. We were pleasantly surprised by the inside of the hotel. The staff were all extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable for our family of five. The pool and gym facilities were nice. Breakfast was included and items were constantly replenished. The biggest downside for us would be that it was kind of far to walk to the French Quarter. There is a trolley stop about three blocks away although it was a little difficult to locate because of the construction going on in the area. Parking was $25/night which for a large city wasn't unreasonable. Overall I think the hotel was a great deal for the price and I would return if ever in New Orleans again.

The Spot

We went for Bayou Classic, the room was ready, this location is within walking distance from downtown, the staff was very courteous the entire time, including those that served in breakfast area. The only downfall is by it being a holiday weekend, there was a charge for parking which was not stated, but they do have other spaces that are free on a first come first served basis at a certiain hour. So prepare to pay for parking without hassle. The other problem is hearing into other rooms, not to quite, and I was on a side that could hear the nightclub/bar near by! So i guess it depends where you are, the location is one of the greatest,

Really? No parking?

The hotel was pretty average as far as hotels go. The room was nice and served my family well but when we got there after driving 8 hours, they tell us at check-in that the parking garage is full but they have a recommendation of a parking garage a couple of blocks away. I don't know what parking would have cost us there. NOLA doesn't have cheap parking anywhere, we are aware of that but, NO PARKING! It cost us $30 bucks and a long walk in 80 - 90 degree heat. Not impressed to say the least. Breakfast was free. With a family of 5, that was nice.

We have found our perfect N.O. hotel!

As our family was driving out of New Orleans, we listed the top reasons we loved this hotel. (Really!) 1. Location - close to where we needed to be (the Mexican consulate), but also not too far from Canal St. and the museums. 2. The room was lovely and clean. 3. The kids loved the pool, although it is a tad small, it's perfect for the kids. 4. Free breakfast! That's almost impossible to find in the area, and it was very filling! Waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, and much more. 5. The staff was super nice and seemed to want to make our stay enjoyable. 6. There are TVs in the mirrors of the lobby' s bathrooms. (That's from the kids.) 7. Nice little fitness area with treadmills and stationary bikes 8. Hot tub 9. Free WiFi The only downfall for me was that the bathroom in the room didn't have a fan, and I almost suffocated after taking a hot shower. But that's livable. really seemed to want to make our stay enjoyable.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Few hotels offer good free breakfasts in New Orleans. It's definitely a money-saver if you can fill up with a hearty breakfast before going out to explore this beautiful city.

Festival experience

Even though you are not right on Bourbon street, this hotel is the perfect place to stay with just a quick cab ride to Jackson Square. We stayed here during the 2013 French Quarter Festival and slept great! We would definitely go back to this hotel again.

Excellent Value

We were very pleased with the hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. This was our first stay at a Springhill Suites and our experience really caused us to now seek (Springhill Stes) in other markets....

Fun 5 day Footbal trip

We went for 5 days to see the Saints game. Loc ation was great because the hotel is only 5 blocks to the casino and Canal St. We used the pool and whirl pool.. that is what you need after all the time walking to the bars and stores. There are always taxis outside to take you to French Quarter. Rooms were cleaned regularly and new towels when requested. The free breakfast was good but not great and the staff didn't care if you were 2 minutes late (not even apple)you're not getting anything to eat. the front desk was helpful making suggestions to eat... didnt have a problem with finding a bar. Great Trip!!

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Take a taxi to the French Market ($8.00) area and then start your walk towards the hotel stopping off to eat and and drink then the 10 - 15 blocks will be more enjoyable and you would have walked off the food and drink.
