Great Location Rooms need Updating
The best location, great views no matter which side you were on, you could be on 'river view' side or the 'city view' side, it was great. Right next to all the fun but far enough to enjoy your sleep. Hotel is across the street from French Quarters, 1 block away from Harrah's casino, two blocks away from the America's Aquarium, River walk and the IMAX theater. Everything you need in New Orleans is right there. Staff is very friendly and accomodating, the lobby is beautifull and well kept. The rooms are not as nice as they should be for the price - the only downside. Rooms are clean, beds and pillows are very nice but one look and you know that the room needs to be refurbished and brought in from the 1990's. Over all the hotel was a great experience.

į®Not up to Sheraton Standard
The door keys were not working properly. Informed front desk to address this problem. Hotel maintenance came and repair it but still the keys didn't work, had to reprogram it again at the front desk. The room was right in front of the elevator lobby at 9th floor, thus so much noise made by the guests using elevator up to early hours. This hotel in New Orleans didn't meet the normal Sheraton Hotel standards in other cities. Very disappointed of the room for the price paid for it.

Convention Fun
The hotel was booked as a package along with airfare. The hotel was in the perfect location, reasonably close to the convention center & close to the French Quarter. There were preat places to eat within walking distance. On my day off, I took in a museum- and I had plenty to choose from. Couldn't have planned it better.

The Good & Bad
I was there for a pool party, but never got in because there was so much horse play going on in the pool. The hotel is beautiful the staff was great the only thing that would have made it better is if the elevators worked properly....I waited at least 20 mins for a elevator.

Nothing special
I was in NOLA for 24 hours and had planned on staying in for my early flight. However, the in room movies weren't working and said it would take days to fix. The shower had rust in it, paint peeling, wallpaper with holes...not very impressed.

Great choice
Wanted secure upscale hotel with easy access to French Qtr. Hotel was secure but Canal St has vagrants. Hotel personnel were friendly, courteous, and accommodating. Room & hotel in general are great. Only complaint was housekeeping noise in morning. Lots of door slamming. Otherwise, it was a great experience that we will repeat.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
French Quarter & Bourbon Street are only a short cab ride or streetcar ride away. For those able to walk, it's a medium to long walk but don't walk it late at night.

unimpressed
After moving from the westin, I was bummed to find myself in the Sheraton in a room that was half as nice with twice the number of beds I needed. [...].The room was small, and the shower was crummy as well. The Sheraton on canal st paled in comparison to the westin which was just up the street.

Great value in a great city
This was my first trip to New Orleans and it was everything I expected. I loved the "go green" option at the hotel where if you decide to skip housekeeping for a day, they give you a $5 voucher to use at the hotel restaurants. That was great! I will say that the images from the website are a tad misleading as far as the pool goes. The pool was small and seemed a little run down. On the website it was depicted as a great rooftop pool. The only problem I had at the hotel was at check out. I was charged for 3 days of parking a vehicle and I didn't even have a car there. So, it did take a while for that to be taken care of. Otherwise the staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great time.

The location is perfect with a lot of helpful staff. Pleasant, easy-going, and kind. We enjoyed our stay. The green choice the hotel has gave us a choice not to have room service everyday. We like the idea of making a place more like home than a hotel. After we set it up, it is for us to keep it clean and the staff will give things we need if we ask and just leave us alone.[...]

When we asked for a local lunch place: two recommendations were given by the bell service staff. He gave direction to one vegetarian and one local famous place called Mothers and we went to Mothers according to his direction and really enjoy the food of the BIG EASY.
