Great location but a little disappointed

The location is PRIME for an affordable stay within walking distance to the French Quarter. The room was comfy, the staff was very polite. However, there was renovations occurring throughout the hotel during our stay. The renovations werent troubling, except that they began at 7am. In the French Quarter, 7 am is when everyone falls asleep. It would've been much more polite to have them wait until checkout time before they start with the hammering and the jackhammer. Also the shower pressure was really weak.

Over all a pretty good stay.

The hotel was nice and modern. The location was pretty good as far as being close to the french quarter. The room was very small, it didn't have much moving room but it was clean which is important to me. The fan in the bathroom was extremely loud so we had to shut the bathroom door every time one of us went in the bathroom or the person outside the bathroom couldn't hear the TV. There was no way to turn the fan off, it automatically came on when you turned on the light. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Close to French Quarter

St Charles street is Royal street on the other side of Canal Street. This right next to Burbon Street in the French quarter. But adults will prefer Frenchman Street entertainment. The hotel is ok but they charge for parking and Internet. But that's New Orleans.

Good price and great location

We come to NOLA several times a year and the Royal Saint Charles has become our "go to choice". In a safe neighborhood right across canal from bourbon and the quarter. An easy walk away for the noise of Bourbon for a quiet nights sleep when your fun is over.

Good location, nice staff, but average

Great location on canal street just outside the french quarter and a couple blocks from Bourbon street. Quiet hotel. Could never get room temp quite right. Thermostat stuck on cold and the electrician came to fix and said it was 58 degrees in the room! Also, they did not make up the room during our 2 night stay. Nice friendly staff, though and PJs coffee located in the lobby is a plus

Royal St. Charles

The hotel was OK and I like being able to park there. In the end it was $100 a night which was a bit steep also, none of the rooms had windows that opened for fresh air...

Great location but dirty

When we checked in the front desk person was not very friendly. The room was large (corner room) but very dirty and the shower matt had black mildue all over it. We loved that it was a block from the French Quarter and right on the trolley line.

A ride out to the end of the St. Charles Avenue Street car line and back is a wonderful sightseeing adventure. Deanies Restaurant is a must - On Iberville one block north of Bourbon Street. We ate all our dinners there.
