Royal Sonesta New Orleans

The Sonesta hotel lobby was impressive but, unfortunately, our room was on the fifth floor with no view of any significance and downward slant from the roof in one end of the room; this part of our trip was a downer -- I will never accept a booking at this hotel. To be fair, all other aspects of the hotel were good. We spent most of our time in the quarter and river front; ate at Antoines, and FIN, had Begnies/chicory coffee @ Cafe Du Monde; Watched a couple of Mardi Gras parades. Return trip was long, having been routed through Atlanta rather than Houston. Previous trips to the South and East were typically routed more crisply and as short as possible.

I have always wanted to stay at the Royal Sonesta but could not afford it. You made it possible and it went well beyond our expectations. The service and friendlyness was such a help from the front desk to the room service. The rooms were spotless with the most comfortable beds we've had in New Orleans. It was not necessary to leave the hotel to savor the finest food and drinks as well as the local entertainment if you did not want to. Although there was a large conference going on at the same time we never felt cramped or went for lack of service. The location is ideal as we walked to the many sights in the French Quarter that we wanted to see. This was the best trip we have had in the Crescent City and we have been there over a dozen times. The only thing missing from this trip in New Orleans was more time to enjoy it. We visited Jackson Square, took a buggy ride to get all the local lore and hear bout the famous places. Shopped at the French Market, saw a Mardi-Gras parade on Sunday and had to buy an extra bag to bring all the beads home. In addition to several meals at Royal Sonesta we went across the Street from the hotel and ate at the Old New Orleans Cookery. Thanks to all the money you saved us we were also able to have lunch at Antoine's. Of course, everyone goes to the Cafe Du Monde and we were there every day for the powdered sugar fix. We certainly will do our traveling through Cheap Tickets from now on.

The hotel was the perfect place for us to re-group during our New Orleans stay. Very nice and the location could not have been better.

We really enjoyed the stay at the Royal Sonesta. perfect location in this fantastic street. New Orleans is one of the best places we have ever been. We had great food experiences and listened to really good bands at several places in Bourbon Street. Loved walking around the French Quarter

Such a gorgeous hotel located right on Bourbon Street. Many restaurants within just a short walk. Some were right around the corner! Very friendly staff who give good suggestions. I would not stay anywhere else in New Orleans.

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel, we were treated like VIP's. We stayed three nights to celebrate my husbands birthday. The location was perfect for us. Almost everything thing we wanted to see was within walking distance. If not, the staff was quick to find transportation for us. The staff all knew the area well which meant there was no guessing at the best places for food and entertainment. We will recommend the Royal Sonesta everytime. PS Be sure to ask for a Cajun Mary in the Desire Oyster Bar. Its the best around.

My wife and I are locals staying in the french quarter for a weeding downtown. The hotel is one of the top hotels in the city. The staff are extremely polite. check in and check out times are perfect. The only thing that would have made this stay better is the parking. The Attendant collecting the money was rude and abrupt. I also do not understand why a small Volvo SUV is charged pricing as a large vehicle. Other then the parking situation everything else was perfect.

Hotel was great except for having to flush our toilet with a trash can full of water each time we used it. But, easily repaired and we moved on. Jazz in the Lobby was fantastic!

Great hotel in a great location! Be prepared to stay up late and not rest between 11p and 4am. Everyone was friendly and responsive. Definitely would recommend to couples wanting to be adventurous!

I booked the hotel to look at french quarter property. The quality of the hotel services available were not up to my previous stays at this hotel. The was an incident at the hotel bar involving a rude and completely unprofessional bartender. When I complained to management the hotel staff did not even have the courtesy to respond to the phone call.
