Everything here was just fine, no complaints at all. The room was just what one needs when visiting New Orleans, a comfortable bed, hot shower and toilet. I would come back with no hesitation.

Disappointed
The desk staff was not overly friendly or helpful. Additionally, the valet service was extremely slow...there appears to only have been on valet on duty at a time. In terms of the room, it was clean but the TV and phone did work, so I couldn't call down to the front desk. My last morning there the hotel ran out of coffee for the continental breakfast.

Good boutique experience
Friendly, very helpful staff. Good location that was close to everything without being in the middle of the French Quarter. Only negative was that non-smoking room smelled a bit like smoke.

Perfect Location and Good Value
I looked very hard to find economical hotels close to the French Quarter and was very pleased with choosing the Queen and Crescent Hotel. We arrived a bit early but were able to store our bags in a secured room. Reception was great, front desk person Jon Tierre (I believe) really was exceptional and helped us a number of times during our stay. Room was spacious and clean. Initially room AC didn't seem to be working but literally within five minutes of our call it was fixed. Location to French Quarter and Canal Street was outstanding. Disappointments - one morning the hot water was only tepid at best; and, the breakfast is very plain: bagels, boiled eggs, some danish and sugary children's cereal. Also, they tack on a $9.95 "resort fee" for each day of your stay. I was aware of the fee when I booked the hotel and it was still the best value, but I don't like so called "resort fees" - either don't charge them or include it in the cost of the basic room rate. I reduced the overall value rating because I so dislike this practice. I would go back to this hotel.

Close to it all, and still quiet
The location was convenient - a short walk from the French Quarter, but nice & quiet. Staff were friendly & helpful. Room is worn but architecture has charm if you prefer places with some character (like me).

Quaint and Comfortable
I stayed at the Queen and Crescent for four days when I came to New Orleans for a conference that was being held at the Hilton. I generally prefer boutique hotels to large hotel chains, because the boutique hotels tend to be more elegant, quaint, comfortable, and the staff is generally friendlier, easier to find, and can give more personal attention. The Queen and Crescent lived up to those exact expectations. It is also located in the perfect place, with Bourbon Street, Harrah's, and the Street Car all within 3 blocks. I will stay there again the next time I visit New Orleans.

Saint Marie's is three streets up the road on Poydras. It is the newest place in town; serving traditional Louisiana cousine like chicken and waffles and crawfish mac and cheese with a classy and elegant twist.

Very Welcoming
I loved the hotel! The staff was very welcoming, my room was ready and I was ideally located near the action. I would stay here again. I liked the hotel bar, especially the concept of "drink to go."

Good getaway if not planning on staying in room frequently!
Elevator very slow. Staff very friendly and if one is not planning on staying in room it is a good palce to book. Bathroom not very large for two people. Room is nice with king sized bed. Overall, enjoyed our stay! Would have loved a placed to eat within the hotel other than continental breakfast!
