Boutique is a stretch

On our arrival the desk staff couldn't have been nicer or more informative. This was consistent throughout our trip. Our room was a different story. It was quite small and the area to move around in was negligible. I had requested a king bed because I'm tall but only got a queen. As a result I was cramped and constantly hitting my wife (we have a king at home). It was only a 5 minute walk to the French quarter but the immediate area was dull. The "valet" service was hit and miss. The price was good considering that it was the weekend of the BCS championship game but I would choose another hotel on another trip to NOLA.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

Galatoire is a famous restaurant and didn't disappoint. Considering the quality and volume of food it was terrific. You can even choose your waiter. We asked for the one who had been there the longest and was served buy a fantastic Hungarian refugee that has been at Galatoire 40 years. He was fantastic and the story of his family was compelling. Go for the food, history and service.

It was a room.....

It was a very small corner room. The rug was stained and there was no stopper in the bath. I have stayed here in the past, but it wasn't this run down. They need to update and fix up a little. Not the best night sleep....

Which Hotel

Arrived at the Hotel on Camp St but they told me I was at another one of their hotels a few blocks away. A little inconvenient. You would think they would of let you know this. Otherwise everything was fine as far as the room. They tried to charge me for two days parking when I only parked one. There are some hidden charges that will come out when you get your bill, be aware.

The hotel was perfect for our football weekend in New Orleans. Everything was in walking distance to hotel and staff was very helpful. Our toilet got stopped up and we called the front desk and within 10 minutes someone was there to fix it.

Not overwhelming, but it will do

Great price, service is a little less than average. After staying at several marquee hotels in downtown New Orleans, the service here left a lot to be desired. But for about $85 a night and cheap parking, it was about what i expected. Room is tiny, but it was very clean and the location is prime. Very close to the dome, Bourbon Street and warehouse district.

Plus and minus....

This hotel is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful. The room was quaint, but a bit small. There was a very thin blanket on each bed, but not enough to keep you warm. We asked for extra blankets and the said they had no extras. Aside from a few small drawbacks, this is a hotel I would stay at again, I would be sure to bring blankets from home, and get a bigger room. The location was close to Jackson Square and Riverwalk, and not too far from the Dome.

Deceptive

When I go noline and book a hotel I expect to get the final price - or - They might tell you their will be a surcharge or tax added upon arrival. Beware - The Queen and Crescent has a surcharge of about $10 a night that is not advertized in their online rates. So we started off on the wrong foot with the surcharge. The lobby is nice. Beautiful art and a bar in the entrance are welcoming. Nice antiques adorn the halls and the furnishings are nice enough (better than your average hotel at this price. The air unit is covered in that dust / spiderweb stuff that builds up when you don't clean them. The bath looks good enough when you look at it but the shower head, OMG, I would have been better off using an eye dropper. With better management this place could be great. If you need ten dollars more per night just add it to the price you charge online. Be honest with your customers or they will not come back. BTW. We stayed at the St. James last time we were here and we will stay with them the next time we come back.
