location, location ...

Hotel ambiance, staff etc. was very nice. The one thing which totally ruined it was the fact that the room was on Conti street side and the noise from Bourbon street carried into the room. Did not get a wink of sleep and checked out the very next morning to find another hotel.

Frenchman street - I believe it was called - in Marigny area is where the real music scene is. Bourbon street is for bachelor parties and Spanish Costa ambiances.

New Years Visit

We stayed at this hotel for the New Years weekend and it could not have been a better experience. The location is prime (1/2 a block from the middle of Bourbon St) and they had valet parking at the hotel. The staff was just wonderful. The hotel is old (like everything in the French Quarters) but the rooms were modern and clean, Maid service was great and it was quiet considering all the noise going on up the street. The price per nice was very reasonable for the location. Would stay there again any day

Good place to stay in the Quarter

I make random last minute trips to Nola and this is one of my go to places. Right across the street from the Erin Rose Bar and an easy walk to any restaurant or attraction. The rooms are ok, kinda hit or miss but the staff is extremely friendly. Even let me check in @ 9:30 in the morning!!!

The location is great!

The location was great, easy to find other locations. The hotel provided a helpful map and the staff was friendly and helpful. It was advertised as a smoking room but it was not. It would be nice to have coffee and rolls in the lobby in the morning. All in all it was quite nice and I would stay there again.

Nice place, great location

The Prince Conti is a nice little hotel in a great location - close to the fun/insanity of Bourbon Street but not TOO close. It was very warm when I visited so it was nice to be able to walk around and then come back to the hotel for some time in the AC or a quick shower. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Unlike some of the mega hotels, the place had personality. My room was spacious and clean. It really was a great value for the location - especially when you consider there was free WiFi with good reception throughout the hotel. If you are looking for a new hotel or a luxury property, you shouldn't select the Prince Conti. The rooms and public areas are all very clean but in some spots the carpeting is showing age. The elevator is slow. The continential breakfast is sparse - croissants, muffins, and sweet rolls - but I wasn't even expecting it to be offered at all. None of these things bothered me but some travelers would not be satisified here. My only real complaint is the noise. Sound really carries between the rooms. SOme of my fellow guests were rather loud when they returned from Bourbon Street on Saturday night. Shortly after I heard them, I heard a hotel staff member coming up to take care of the problem. They were very responsive and worked hard to make sure you had a great stay.

I highly recommend the Magic Tours ghost tour of New Orleans. It is a great mix of history and hauntings. It was very entertaining and still very academic.

Great Location, Thin Walls

Hotel is central to all that you want to see and do in New Orleans. It is an older hotel, so don't expect the amenities of a newer, larger hotel but do expect charm and great customer service. The family in the room next to me could be heard as if they were in my room, including the screaming kids. Noises in the hallway were similarly loud but if you are a good sleeper, the location should trump those concerns.
