Great location, in the heart of the Big Easy
Even though you are close to Bourbon Street, it's relatively quiet. The room was clean and larger than I expected. The location to all the activities the city has to offer was great and easy to get to via cab or walking. I'd recommend it to anyone coming to the city and who wants to be in the heart of the French Quarter. It's a little more noisey at night but if you want to be by Bourbon Street, it's hard to get away from some noise. All and all I thought it was a great value and would recommend it to newcomers who want to be close to all the action but don't need super deluxe accommodations, just a good, clean, comfortable hotel.

Walk, don't take a cab, you don't need it. Everything is pretty much within a 5 or 15 minute walk at the most.

Location location
Steps from the excitement of Bourbon Street the location is a winner. Priced nice as long as you aren't looking for luxury. Most staff were great. Sadly, the one that wasn't left a bad impression. Advertised wifi. It was there, and free. Sadly, that wifi was inconsistent in the room and lobby.

Gem on Conti
Right around the corner from Bourbon street, this little hidden gem is quaint and quite the value for it's proximity to all that the French quarter has to offer. If you're not looking for national chain luxury, you will be quite surprised at the charm this little hotel has to offer. From it's hospitable staff to the paintings and decor, this was definitely a pleasant surprise for a 3 star hotel. Those who have a problem with the noise from nearby Bourbon street. You're silly...if you didn't want the noise why would you pick something nearby ?

I'd book again
Valet parking is $28 a night plus $3 tax. When you exit the hotel you walk 1/2 a block to the heart of Bourbon Street. Getting to the hotel from the highway is a snap, and getting out is a breeze as well. Everything about this place was easy going and zero problems. When something came up and I had to check out a night early, they comped my parking. They didn't refund my room, but of course I wouldn't expect them to. They are fully staffed 24/7. I arrived to check in at 12:30am and there was no delay. A nice place to sleep if you plan on spending as little time in the hotel as possible. It was perfect for my needs.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Walk to the Harrah's Casino down Canal and eat at Dracos. Expect to spend about $100 per person, but they are known for their oysters. I am not too fond of oysters, but theirs are not to be missed. Order the dozen as an appetizer. You're welcome. ;)

Great location, poor cleanliness
Excellent location for access to Bourbon Street. Only used the room for sleep. The room appeared clean, but it had a foul odor. May have been age, but smelled as if animals had been allowed to stay in the room. Desk was contacted and housekeeping immediately came up to the room and sprayed deodorant/disinfectant. I would recommend it most for those on a budget and/or for those seeking lodging near the excitement of the French Quarter.

If you are looking for Zydeco, go to Mulates on Julia and Convention Center Drive. Great cajun food, staff was really wonderful (ask for Kylie). The Lee Benoit Band was great and added to the mood of the experience.
