Surprising find in New Orleans!

In NOL this week and the "conference hotels" were sold out. Found me an amazing hotel at an even more amazing price. Just a block off Bourbon Street but yet away from the noise and the crowds. Beautiful/well maintained, Warm and courteous staff, Check out the outdoor pool on the roof.

Just a business stay this time...

This is a very nice hotel. I was only there for one night for business so didn't really experience anything other than check-in and the room. All went well. It is a block or two walking distance from Bourbon St, but a quiet and calmer location than the craziness of Bourbon St. I checked in late and ended up with a bigger room than I expected with Jacuzzi tub! Too bad I really wasn't able to enjoy my lucky score:)

Elegant With Boutique Feel

This French Quarter location felt more like a boutique hotel than a massive one, so you get a more personal feel. The staff was exceptionally professional, friendly, sharp and attentive. One night it was raining and there were no more umbrellas left. The Bell Captain actually went to his car to bring me his personal one. The lobby was gorgeous and my room was exceptional. I'm not one to spend a lot of time in rooms, preferring to get out and see the town, but this bed was so comfortable and had the most exquisite sheets and pillows that I actually chose to stay in more than I normally do and just enjoy it. The shower head adjusts, not only in pressure, but in height. This was a real bonus since I'm very short. Perfect location in the heart of the Quarter, just about 2 blocks over from Bourbon Street, so it was convenient but not noisy. Across the street is the State Supreme Court, a beautiful building surrounded by gorgeous magnolia trees. The river and all the sights along it were less than a 10 minute walk. You will love staying here!

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

Bring a small umbrella! It rains every afternoon. The hotel lends umbrellas but they're large and awkward to carry.

We loved our stay!

We were in New Orleans for an Ace Hardware convention in February. This was our second stay at this hotel. The hotel's location is perfect for those who want to experience the energy of the French Quarter. The staff was very accommodating and the hotel itself mirrors the gentility of the old south. We loved our stay.

Great Stay

In town for the work boat show and this was close enough to the convention center and far enough from bourbon st to let me sleep. Great room, great staff.

Great old hotel, but showing it's age

Beautiful historic hotel, but some problems with plumbing and the rooms are not modern at all. However, they knocked 100 off of the bill for everyone in the hotel for the day the plumbing was messed up. Location simply couldn't be better.

Great location, small room

Great staff & location. Rooms are adequate-- clean & functional, but very small. Bed was comfy. Tv was tiny & dated if you care about such things.

Omni Royal Orleans trade offs

Price and location were excellent. Came for a conference 2 blocks away and it was an easy wall. Staff was always pleasant. Room was tiny but clean. Biggest problem was screaming (and I do mean screaming) water pipes when anyone used the plumbing. Woke us up with a start several times during the night.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Smack in the middle of the Quarter so wear comfy shoes and wallk to dine or shop safely (with plenty of window shopping available along the way.) avoid Bourbon Street unless you've just turned 21 and want to know what drinking in volume is like.

Nice place!

Everything went smoothly from and easy check in, restful nights sleep, and an even easier check out. The view overlooking the courtyard was beautiful, along with the view from the 7th floor patio area. Magnificent views of New Orleans. I attended a conference at the hotel as well and all staff catering the event were polite and accommodating.

Good french quarter location

It's an old hotel, so the rooms are small. We upgraded this last visit and the room was still small, I could not really see any difference. The hotel is kept perfectly clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's pet friendly and we have taken our dog(s) several times.
