Perfect vacation spot

This was our third visit to the Omni Royal Hotel. We've travelled to New Orleans many times to attend Jazzfest or the French Quarter Festival and this is our favorite hotel. The location is great, the staff friendly and the pool area with an obervation deck overlooking the Missippi is beautiful. The rooms are smallish but clean and nicely furnished. We cannot wait to return.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are lots of wonderful places to eat fancy or simple near the hotel. Muriel's, Arnaud's, Acme Oyster, The Redfish Grill, Stanley's, Cafe du Mondeto name a few. Many beautiful shops and galleries, too.

Omni Royal Hotel Review

Loved the hotel and it's location. Room was comfortable and clean but small. Pool was adequate but fitness center could have been larger with more equipment. I would book this hotel again in a heartbeat.

Excellent!

The Omni is right in the French Quarter, but in a safe and quieter area. It is close to everything we wanted. The staff was as good as we've seen at higher priced hotels.

Christmas wonderland

My only complaint was the lousy weather. It rained almost all the time I was there. New Orleans has changed a bit since Katrina. There wasn't any Zydeco bands playing on Bourbon Street and far too many strip joints. The food is still good but not quite as good. The hotel was first-rate and decorated to the hilt for the holidays as was the French Quarter. I took public transportation from the airport which took me about an hour to get to the hotel but I saved about $45. The beds have firm matresses but the goose-down pillows were exquisite. I also received a room upgrade when I arrived. GREAT!

Perfect!

Everything from check in to check out was perfect. Super friendly and very professional staff. The location was perfect, close enough to Bourbon Street to enjoy but far enough to leave it behind at the end of the night! Right in the middle of everything, but still quiet and peaceful in the rooms.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Just around the corner from the hotel is the Oceana (sp)Grill. Ask for specific directions, it is worth the short walk. Excellent FRESH seafood. No shortages and very reasonably priced. So many places to choose from, just ask the bellmen.....they will not steer you wrong!

Great Location

Had a great time staying here. The staff is friendly, the room was quite nice, and the view from the observation deck is fantastic. Moreover, it was very close to Bourbon street, close enough that you could take a quick break, stop in the hotel, and be back out before anyone has finished their drinks.
