day in the quarter
The location of the hotel is perfect. Easy walk to just about anything. If we had known before hand that the roof pool area was as nice as it was we would have brought our bathing suits with us. Omni is going to be our new hotel of choice in the Quarter

bad timing?
The Royal Orleans is a lovely property. Unfortunately there were major renovations going on in the hotel during our stay. Over 3 nights we moved rooms 4 times due to construction noise. The staff were accommodating, providing compensation in the form of dining certificates in the Rib Room. Ultimately we received a voucher for two nights stay in the future. I believe that the stay would have been exemplary if not for the renovations underway during our visit. p.s. we stayed in january 2013, the option below for stay date doesn't have that option yet!

Short but nice stay
Grabbed a last minute one-night stay at an incredible price. The location was outstanding (although parking predictably expensive) and the feel of the place was classy/very New Orleans French Quarter. The room I reserved (petit queen) was European in size and truly wouldn't have been comfortable for 2 ... having said this, I knew what I was getting into before I booked it and found it very comfortable. The room and floor I was on was in need of "refreshing." I was told by the bartender that the hotel was in the process of renovating floor-by-floor, which is good to know. The bathrooms are typical of an old hotel - and part of the experience ... not much counter-space in this room - but again part of the package if you want the French Quarter feel (I'm sure there are exceptions but not at this price and with this level of class!).

Friendly staff
Beautiful old hotel that is showing her age , particularly the carpet in the halls and the bed. The room and bathroom were small but clean but the mattress was horrible. Both my husband and I woke up in the middle of the night with a backache. We could not get comfortable for the remainder of the night. The location was close to everything in the French quarter and the staff was very friendly. We want to go back to NOLA when it gets a little cooler but we will be staying in the garden district.

Nikki not happy
Were very uncomfortable in the room
The Hotel, staff, location and cleanliness was great but the small size of the room was horrible to us and I felt 175.00 a night for it was rediculas! Along with no convience of access to outside where my husband could smoke - we really couldn't wait to leave and I really dreaded going back to the small room each night. The high cost of parking was also very inappropriate, we have stayed many places in the Fench Quarter of New Orleans and never paid over 15.00 a day. We will NEVER stay there again:(

The people at this hotel were so nice, bathrooms small ,but the rooms were clean .
The service at this hotel was great everyone goes out of their way to help you with anything you need from just a cold water for while your walking to where to go to eat. They were so nice to my mom she is 77 and they watched out for her to make sure she was safe and comfortable.
