From the exquisite, Victorian-style ironwork outside, to the flower-decked terraces of the rooftop pool, the Omni Royal Orleans brings its own mix of old and new to the Big Easy. This stately property rises seven stories above the French Quarter, and features French-style rotisserie dining at the Rib Room, while guests can finish off the evening sipping a Sazerac at the adjoining piano bar. Executive writing desks in the 19th century rooms make business a pleasure here, along with the high-speed Wi-Fi in the lobby (fees may apply), and the traditional on-site barber shop and shoeshine service beckon with Southern hospitality.

Gorgeous hotel, but noisy...

This was a gorgeous hotel in a great location. The staff was top-notch! Really our only complaint is that the walls are super thin and you can hear EVERYTHING - we heard everything from the drunks in the hallway at night trying to find their room to the maids knocking on every door in the morning for room service.

New Orleans

Hotel is Nice. Good Location. Watch the Valet parking very sub par. I understand that parking is nigh but when you are paying $35 a night to park on top of the hotel stay they should take care of your car better. We would not stay there again.

Ideal Location in New Orleans

The hotel was perfectly located for visiting New Orleans. In the French Quarter but far enough from the noise of Bourbon Street to make it nice. Located right in the heart of the antiques and art gallery stores and just a block or so from Jackson Square and three blocks form Canal Street - Central Business District.

Great location!!!

We spent very little time at the hotel. However, it was in a great location. It was a short walk to Bourbon St., Jackson Square, and other great locations. The staff were friendly and the room was cleaned and sheets changed daily. Only complaint is that the cleaning staff threw away some souvenier items. When we reported this to the front desk, the staff didn't seem to care. Other than that, everything was great. We would definitely stay there again.

Omni Royal Orleans trade offs

Price and location were excellent. Came for a conference 2 blocks away and it was an easy wall. Staff was always pleasant. Room was tiny but clean. Biggest problem was screaming (and I do mean screaming) water pipes when anyone used the plumbing. Woke us up with a start several times during the night.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Smack in the middle of the Quarter so wear comfy shoes and wallk to dine or shop safely (with plenty of window shopping available along the way.) avoid Bourbon Street unless you've just turned 21 and want to know what drinking in volume is like.

Christmas wonderland

My only complaint was the lousy weather. It rained almost all the time I was there. New Orleans has changed a bit since Katrina. There wasn't any Zydeco bands playing on Bourbon Street and far too many strip joints. The food is still good but not quite as good. The hotel was first-rate and decorated to the hilt for the holidays as was the French Quarter. I took public transportation from the airport which took me about an hour to get to the hotel but I saved about $45. The beds have firm matresses but the goose-down pillows were exquisite. I also received a room upgrade when I arrived. GREAT!

Nice place!

Everything went smoothly from and easy check in, restful nights sleep, and an even easier check out. The view overlooking the courtyard was beautiful, along with the view from the 7th floor patio area. Magnificent views of New Orleans. I attended a conference at the hotel as well and all staff catering the event were polite and accommodating.
