New Orleans Escape
The staff was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable regarding New Orleans and the surrounding area and willing to do the extra little things that leave a great impression. The location was great as well. Right across the street from the River Walk, a few blocks from the trolley stop, close to some good eats and far enough from Bourbon Street to escape that mess.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Take the airboat tour of the bayous and be sure to sign up for the small (6 passenger) boat. A shuttle will pick you up from the hotel and drop you off when finished. The tour is a blast. Gators come right up to the boat and if you get Captain Ernie, you are in for a fun ride and great stories about growing up in the bayou.

No place like home...
The hotel was in perfect (new?) condition but the staff was fantastic. New Orleanians are the friendliest people of any American city. I know because I'm one and I've traveled some. Natural politeness is what I was bathed in throughout my stay at the hotel and elsewhere. The location of the hotel is perfect but public transportation isn't convenient. Luckily, everything is walkable. Bring lots of sunblock and wide-brimmed hats!

Time-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Rent a car if you want to see more than the French Quarter. Valet is pricey but probably worth it. The heat will kill you while waiting for a streetcar to drag by...but riding the streetcar is a leisurely activity for tourists and locals anyway. Don't expect a German Strassenbahn. Just relax and enjoy the ride. It's an old, old, SOUTHERN city.

Great location, good value for the money
Great location, rented two rooms for family while on business. Walking distance to most must see locations. The only downside is you need to be prepared to shell out $30 bucks for parking at the hotel. They don't mention this in the rates.

Nice location, great service & comfy
Overall a very comfortable stay, with excellent concierge, front desk, house keeping, and room service. The gumbo at the hotel restaurant was just ok, but the seafood pasta I ordered room service was divine. Front desk was very helpful during my stay, except for one (i guess) tired guy at 2 in the morning. Location wise this hotel is a 25 min walk from downtown, but its a nice walk.. so no issues. The 4 star rating is a reflection of the look and feel of a generic hotel chain, not of the staff or service which was 5 star.

Location, Location, Location
This was a pleasure trip; My sister and I enjoyed the location of the hotel because it was accessible for local walking to the River Walkway, that was packed with shopping, food courts and Harrah's gaming. The two hour tour allowed us to become acquainted with the sights and sounds of N'awlin-Bourbon St., Market shopping, tasting of delicious food. It was disappointing to observe that local jazz clubs and musicians were disappearing or unavailable particularly in Harrah's Casino.

Don't miss dining for breakfast or lunch at St. Charles Tavern; Catfish is particularly good.
