Loads of fun in New Orleans

My partner and I visited New Orleans for Thanksgiving, and we had a grand time. Since I'm an elite member with Marriott, I had access to the concierge lounge which provide FREE breakfast, h'or dourves, and desserts. The hotel room was nice, but the view of the Mississippi River was awesome. The French Quarter's was around the corner. I am looking forward to visiting New Orleans soon, and return to the Marriott. The only drawback is the Marriott does not give full points when the room is purchased through a third party.

Make sure to place your wallet in your front pocket, and avoid the less active part of the French Quarter at night.

Good experience

I have stayed in better but far more worse places. It was very adequate and would stay there again. My only complaint is that there was not Internet in the rooms and you have to be aware that there will be additional charges for many things. We did not have additional charges because we were careful. Like don't drink the bottled water left on the desk or make local calls. We mentioned it was our 25 th anniversary and was presented with a $75 food and alcohol voucher. We appreciated that. It is an expensive city.

Go to Deanies for seafood that's reasonable and big enough to share. Harrah's also has a reasonable buffet.

Staff

Was not satisfied with the bed. I was told that we would have queen beds. Had to go to front desk because they were going to charge me four days of parking when my wife and myself was there at the time two days. I told the staff this and he told me the price. I than told this male that we had parked at hotel for one night and the person that I gave the keys to told us we didn't have to pay. The next day we went to pick up the rented veh and I tried to pay again the lady at the desk again informed me we didn't have to pay. the next day is when we received a message to come to the front desk. Once there the staff informed me I owed four days for parking and we were only there for two. I told them this than the staff told me we only owed for the night. I explained to him what was told to me and before I was finished he told me we owed for the night. I asked for a manager the manager came I explain it to him this man told me he didn't understand why I wanted him. I explained to this man twice at which time he walked back into his office. On Thurs approx 6:00AM there was the sound of drilling. This went on until I called to make a complaint 7:30AM. A security guard came to room at which time he heard to drilling he called and the drilling stopped. I do not believe I will ever stay at a Marriott again.

Imperial Session Weekend

Great rooms, but the 5 Fifty % lounge was not to my liking on two accounts. The valet charge was expensive, and should offer some type of self parking.

Wellington atended

It is Wellington lo catead. Between the french Quarter and the business district. The bathroom is quite little but enough. There is a godo concierge service and a convinient Starbucks coffee. Good price and ideal for family holydays.

UNCONSIDERATE

We booked a room with two beds and for handicap/disable/wheelchair 1 person. We arrived after 6 hours trip and they gave us a room not for handicap persons, my wife wheel chair could not get into the room and not even enter the bathroom. Then we went to the counter and ask for the right room, they make us wait for more than 2 hours, they said they did not received the booking with the "special need" and dropped the fault to the web site, they said they did not have bigger rooms and no handicap rooms available. They offered to send us to another hotel 25 miles away from it (Across street there is another Marriott (higher standar ??!!) and no offer any other solution just to go to any other hotel by ourself (we paid this one in full at front). So we had no other option than stay in this Hotel (10:00 PM no solution). We received the room and we had to move a table and the beds so the wheel chair could enter the room, still my wife had no access to the bathroom. The nex day the change us to another room, handicap and bathroom accesible, but only one bed, with the mattres broken so we stay 2 adults and one 13 year old in one bed and the person in the middle in a hole that make it hurt the neck and the back. They gave us very nice smiles and very nice apologies but we suffered humiliation and agravation. They did not even offered a compensation!!!!!!!!

INCOSIDERATE

We booked the room for 3 people 1 in wheelchair. The room they gave us my wife wheelchair could not go to the bathroom and we had to move the tables and the beds to make space for her to enter the room. They try to sent us to other hotel 25 miles away from it. They just gave us nices sorrys but did not gave us a solution for the problem. The blamed this web site for the "mistake". It was really an humiliation and an agraviation. We need it to be in that area, we booked it with enough time, we paid at front and they just did not do nothing for a customer, a family with a wheelchair
