Easter in the French Quarter 2012

Everything was as stated and we enjoyed our stay. I thought the Jr suite should of had a sofa or love seat! Also, they offer coffee and danishes per the hotel description not breakfast. Most people were unhappy that it was not a full sitdown breakfast! Nothing is free in New Orleans except what you see on Bourbon Street. I will book again the next time we plan a trip to the Big Easy!!

If walking to the French Quarter after 10 pm be sure to walk on either Royal or Bourbon Street. Some of the side streets are dark and non traveled by many at night!

Posh, and you feel it

Very nice white and black mansion, which is said to be frequented also by stars like Kid Rock. It is a short and safe walk away from the French Quarter attractions. The personell is inattendive, they don't greet and they have a hard time to order a cab for the guests. At the end of your stay, they will charge you a daily $10 fee for the so-called free breakfast and wine/cheese...

Buffa's - right next door. Get the bratwurst jambalaya and a beer. It doesn't look fancy, and it isn't, indeed. It is a regular neighborhood restaurant where you can observe some local folks watching a baseball game or listening to a local band...

clean, modern rooms in great location with great staff

This was a very nice hotel right on the edge of the French Quarter. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and modern. They also have a lovely pool - just didn't get a chance to use it since the weather didn't permit. Definitely would stay here again!

If you stay here, the best burger place ever is just one block away - Port of Call - you have to eat there...and make sure to drink a Monsoon while you are at it.

quiet accommodations in the french quarter

melrose mansion is the first hotel i've stayed where the pictures, rather than making it look more than it seemed, didn't do it justice. the place is simply gorgeous. the hotel staff was very friendly - my only complaint is that my room was missing a hair dryer, and even though we told them, they never brought one up. rooms were very clean, very comfortable. the location is a bit of a walk if you're going to be spending lots of time on the bar side of bourbon street, but we loved that it bordered the Marigny, which is a fun, non-tourist neighborhood. i would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone who was going to NOLA.

As advertised

Often times photos and descriptions don't match up to reality. I was extremely pleased to find this hotel matched up perfectly to what I expected. The staff was very helpful with several requests I made. The coffee/breakfast was fine, certainly not extravegant, but they offered what they advertised. I was able to have a suite with a balcony, which worked out great with the weather and my smoking. I'll be staying here next year again.
