Called the "Belle of New Orleans," Le Pavillon Hotel stands out from the crowd of cookie-cutter chain hotels. A member of Historic Hotels of America, Le Pavillon was built in 1907 and still retains its majesty more than 100 years later with its high ceilings, opulent chandeliers, and antique furnishings in the lobby, as well as 219 refined guestrooms outfitted with marble bathrooms. The award-winning Crystal Room is the hotel's on-site dining option, with an inspired menu of Cajun-inspired cuisine.

le pavillon

The room was small but it was a deluxe queen so if id have paid up to the king it might have been better, room was well appointed, but no bath only a nice big shower, New Orleans hotel rooms can be small nature of the city and its age.

Good value

We have stayed at this hotel a couple times. We like the location, between the Garden District and the Quarter. There are always cabs available on the side of the hotel. It is comfortable, clean, and quiet--a good place to rest and close to all the hoopla when you want it.

recalls another era

I had a very intensive work schedule, and enjoyed beginning each day with a swim in the rooftop pool each morning (I had it to myself). The service and overall features of the hotel harken back to an earlier era, especially the ornate decoration. The $15.00 dinner special each night recalled a time when diners ate in hotel, although the chefs had a heavy hand with the salt. The staff were uniformly polite and helpful, and my car was always ready on time.

Comfortable

Three days and four nights in New Orleans. Just enough time to explore a couple of areas and Le Pavillon was in just the right spot. Walking distance to Canal and the French Quarter but far enough to feel removed from the hustle and bustle. A street car ride to the garden district and Magazine St. It's always nice to enjoy the transportation as much as the destination. Service was friendly and unobtrusive although not particularly sharp. The pool was nice, PB&J's at 10 pm a great touch but the cost of breakfast a bit much. I'd definately stay again but would be willing to try another hotel as well.

Choose your dining destination or at least your perfered cuisine / restaurant before heading out. Although there is a lot of great food to be had, there is also a lot of restaurants that offer mediocre versions of local favorites geared towards tourists who wouldn't know better.

Classy Hotel

My wife and I had a nice stay at the Le Pavillon. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially with recommending dining options. It was our 24th anniversary, and we were surprised to receive a nice bottle of Champaign on ice on our day.Le Pavillon is a hundred year old classic hotel, and the management has down a great job in maintaining it outside and inside. The roomm was a decent size, although the bathrooom was smaller than I had anticipated. We did have to ask for another comforter, as ours had some soil spots. It was replaced immediately. Also, the lid on our sink drain didn't open wide enough to allow the free flow of water. We asked for someone to take a look at it, and we did have to call a second time to get someon's attention. There was free internet connection. The of thew hotel location was good, only a ten minute (or less) walk to the action on Burbon Street, and about 15 to the Riverwalk. I would recommend the hotel to others.

Old Grandeur

Quick business trip to nola. Very good value for one of the Old Grandeur hotels in a pretty convenient location (easy walking distance to Bourbon Street, etc., but removed from it). Parking for my rental was expensive ($35 per night) -- but that may in fact be the going rate -- I don't know.

Classic Hotel With Charm

The hotel was very beautiful and had wonderful charm. The staff was attentive and caring. There was always someone in the lobby to chat with you to see how your vacation was going. My family loved the late night snack of Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, chocolate milk, and hot chocolate. The hotel is located in the Central Business District, so not too far away from Bourbon and the French Quarter. My family enjoyed our stay.

You cannot say that you truly were in New Orleans without a visit to Mother's Restaurant. It is a local establishment without a lot of charm. If you have the time, order the fried chicken, you won't be disappointed.

Oldie but Goodie

The hotel is an easy walk to many attractions - enough that we returned our rental car after two days. The parking is expensive but there are plenty of shuttles and cabs to the further attractions. The staff was always helpful even if they were shorthanded. The hotel is also quite old and in some ways it shows though it is a well maintained elegant hotel. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. The PowerPass that was offered was a great deal too saving us a fair amount of money.

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Take up the PowerPass option and be sure to use it. Get a rental car for two or three days to hit up the sites out of town (Plantations, Zoo and Swamp tour) then return the car (parking is difficult and expensive in the city) and walk/cab/trolly to everything else.
