“Belle of New Orleans” offers genteel luxury fit for the fab traveler

The best of New Orleans is only minutes away from this regal-looking hotel.  Le Pavillon was built in 1907 and restored to its original glory in the 1970s. It evokes the grand style of Napoleonic France. Top-hatted doormen welcome guests to a lobby filled with antiques and lit by 11 crystal and bronze chandeliers. An 1880s hand-carved bar, salvaged from one of Al Capone's Chicago haunts, is right at home in the Big Easy. This hotel is adjacent to the French Quarter and eight blocks from the Morial Convention Center. Bourbon Street and the Superdome are nearby.

Highlights
  • Member of the National Register of Historic Places
  • PB&J served with cold milk and hot chocolate nightly at 10 p.m.

Rooms

The hotel has 213 rooms and seven suites, many appointed with antiques and collectibles.  All rooms feature handmade draperies, plush bedding, hand-carved mahogany armoires, 32-inch flat screens, automated mini bars, complimentary Internet and thick terry robes.  Hand-painted vignettes on the ceiling and ceiling fans distinguish deluxe rooms. Glass-enclosed showers with oversized showerheads are an added perk.

Good value

We enjoyed our stay at Le Pavillon. The fitness center is a bit cramped and dated, but all other amenities and service at the hotel are top notch. Extremely comfortable beds!

We had good experience overall, as far as the hotel goes. It is a very interesting building and it has been (somewhat) renovated. The service, location, etc are average.

Great Escape

everything was amazing. from the pb&js to the rooftop hot tub. the staff was very helpful. my one complaint would be the price of parking, but its about the same as any parking areas around the area. location is perfect, only a short stroll to the french quarter and right down the street from Mother's

CHRISTMAS PRESENT

I TOOK MY WIFE TO NEW ORLEANS AND LE PAVILLON HOTEL FOR CHRISTMAS. I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE ADVERTIZED FREE PARKING WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE $35 PLUS $4.95 TAX PER DAY. I FOUND THE ROOM IN NEED OF CLEANING,DUSTING AND REPAIR. CLEANERS TO TO PULL OUT FURNISHING AND DUST. PLASTER REPAIRS AND TUB RESURFACING. THE STAFF ARE VERY NICE. THE HOTEL RETAURANT FOOD WAS EXCELLENT. SORRY , I WILL CHOSE ANOTHER HOTEL IN THE FUTURE.

Great stay, lots of local character

Who wants to stay at a Hilton or Marriot when your in a town full of so much character? This place gives the feel of the city in all it's character and charm. We enjoyed the ambiance and great, friendly service. The jacuzzi, free business center, and nightly PB&J hour was just a bonus. It's about a two block walk to Canal which then takes you into the heart of the French quarter. We got away with no rental car and just took a few cab rides ($6) the the south of of the french quarter when our legs got too tired.

Lovely old charmer

This is a blast from the past, with impeccable service, incredible food and a location that cannot be beat. The rooms show their age, but the Crystal ballroom is a great place to eat and be waited on in classic New Orleans style. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Hotel. Fantastic Staff

Had a wonderful stay for 3 nights. The staff could not be more accommodating. I had to work from the hotel while my husband had the opportunity to spend the days at his leisure. The housekeeping workef with me and my crazy work schedule to clean the room. The concierge worked with my husband to plan his day with some enjoyable sidetrips.

Hidden Secret

My husband and I are originally from New Orleans and have never stayed at Le Pavillon when going back to visit. The staff was wonderful and the friendly New Orleans people that we miss. Everything was perfect except the room had a "musty" odor. The beds were comfortable and the room was very large. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was great. They had Community Coffee in large coffee cups and plenty to eat at the buffet. We will go back.
