My first New Orleans trip
excellent location with good service. We felt pampered during our stay. Only minor problem was small amount of counter space in bathroom. Otherwise the room was perfect.

Two day trip
Perfect location
The hotel was exceptional. There was an entrance in the back of the building for the car which was whisked away and parked inside at $ 30 per night! Beautiful room on the 24th floor. Wonderful room. we walked 1-2 blocks to bourbon street at night & felt very safe. There are stores across the street for alcohol and fast food also across the street.

Great Customer Service
I'm no stranger to visiting New Orleans. During my stay, I experienced an unfortunate mishap - the smoke detector in my room malfunctioned in the middle of the night. Talk about a rude awakening. The hotel staff was very apologetic for the mishap and upgraded me to a larger room to make up for it - as they should have. It sure is nice when they do the right thing.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Mena's Palace may close early, but for a quick lunch you can't beat the combo of down home hospitality combined with cheap delicious eats.

Fun week in NOLA
My boyfriend and I traveled to New Orleans for a fun vacation between Christmas and New Years. We were looking for a little of everything, nightlife, good food and some sight-seeing. The location was perfect. It was within walking distance to the French Quarter and the Street Car stop was less than a block away, making a side trip to the Audubon Zoo or the mansions very easy. We arrived around 10 am and were planning on dropping off our bags and exploring the city before being able to check-in several hours later. When we arrived at the hotel, we were able to check-in then, which was amazing. We still explored a little and got lunch, but not having to wait until 3 made the day much more enjoyable. My main complaints about the hotel was that it was loud. I could hear loud people walking past our door and the ventilation system made weird noises at times. The room was kind of small, but the bed was comfortable and I really enjoyed the robe. The fitness center was nice, although fairly basic and unfortunately it was too chilly to use the outdoor pool. There aren't any cheap dining options in the hotel, although there is a coffee shop next door and several more restaurants and cafes within walking distance. All in all, it was a decent hotel, although nothing extremely special. I would stay there again.

Long walk from hotel
Go to Port of Call on Esplanade for burgers. It was the best cheeseburger I've ever had and would go back to New Orleans just for that!

Good location
The location was great. Walking distance to the French Quarter. From our room, we could even read the street sign "Bourbon Street".We did not get the free breakfast buffet as mentioned by [...] while making reservations. When we talked to the hotel staff, they said we were not on the "list" for the breakfast buffet. However, the staff said they would honor our request if the [...] confirmation mentioned breakfast buffet. When I checked the confirmation, to my dismay, there was no mention of the breakfast buffet. In the future I'll make sure whatever promotion shows up wile making a reservation also shows up on my confirmatory e-mail. Other than the breakfast snafu, our trip was very pleasurable. If you drive your own car, prepare to fork out $ 35.00/day for parking at the hotel.

A shiney spot in a dirty town
Well it was Mardi Gras'. And they did it well. Took care of everything during a time of extreem crazyness. Becareful, because of the parades, you sometimes can get caught on the other side of the street and have to party until the parades pass and reopen Canal St. The rooms are a little noisy if you have bad neighbors, but the hotel was overall great.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
You're right on the edge of the French Quarter. You can get there quick, but can also get out when you've had enough.

weekend in the big easy
Weekend getaway in New Orleans. Room was nice, bathroom was very small. There was a large group of college students in the hotel, thus noisy very late at night. Hotel was convenient to the Quarter. Food prices at the hotel were very high as well as internet acess $15/day

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Royal Street offered the best shopping that was not of the typical tourist New Orleans type.
