Excellent place to stay for Jazz Fest

We chose this hotel for its historical qualities, but ended up being amazed at the great location to stay for Jazz Fest and its proximity to the French Quarter. The rooms were on the small side due to the historic nature of the building. However, the charm, cleanliness and staff made up for anything lacking in size. It's location in the French Quarter was terrific and it was only two blocks walk to the shuttle buses for Jazz Fest. The roof deck pool area was a terrific place to re-group with friends at the end of the day over wine and food. Lovely view.

An enjoyable trip

We wanted to get away a bit from the snow and New Orleans was just the place, and our hotel stay was certainly part of a great trip. There was nice music and singing once out the door with antique and souvenir shops and restaurants all around. The parking was a bit much we thought, considering that we wanted to tip the valets every time they got our car.

Great Experience

The staff was great, they did the most to accommodate us. To the point of giving each room member its own key, which helped a lot. Location could not be better. Not noisy like Bourbon Street, yet really close to continue the party.

Only one real complaint

The hotel itself is great, nice location and famous bar, and a rooftop pool. Only the rooftop pool staff (some) where over zealous and rude in enforcing their no smoking policy. Was very poorly handled when someone in out group lit up a cigar without really knowing the policy. The nasty Sunday pool staff lady, Asian looking girl with a name begining with E, rudely kicked the entire party out instead of giving a warning and acted more like an angry school marm than a customer service representative.

Wonderful trip to the Quarter

We were traveling with a companion who was wheel chair bound. The staff and the hotel couldn't have been more accommodating! We had a wonderful time. The restaurant attached to the hotel was one of the best we dined in. Loved the pool! The staff went out of their way to make sure that we had what we needed. Thank you.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Don't forget to go the Frenchmen Street, just outside the quarter. Less touristy. More neighborhood and great jazz!

Two Gals Fun Weekend in the Big Easy!!!

My gal pal and I took the city by storm, hitting all the classy locales and partaking of some uber-fun shopping! Monteleone was home-base, perfectly situated in the middle of everything and every place we needed to be! And the staff was marvelously accommodating! The lounge and carousel bar were the most fun after dinner, and the Sunday brunch in the restaurant was exquisite and heavenly! We'll stay here again and again!

Perfect location!

This is a beautiful hotel. The concierge' is very helpful in scheduling sight seeing events with no need of worry if the weather turns bad and you need to cancel. This hotel is only one street off of Bourbon Street but very different. It is safe and clean. My less than perfect rating had to do with the maid service. The room was not always cleaned until almost evening #5pm upon after making the request#, they didn't always leave coffee, we had to request toilet paper - those types of things. Everything else about the hotel is terrific. The doormen are helpful in getting a cab immediately.

Use the concierge' to make any sightseeing. If the weather turns bad there is no charge to cancel. They even got us a discount on one of the tours. They are great with directions and information on what to do.
