Couldn't be better for large hotel

A large hotel always lacks the quaintness of a boutique property, but this hotel could not be more lovely. The sweeping grand entrance, much of the older charm kept and restored. The original rotating bar is fun and busy. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. You really are in the middle of everything The Quarter has to offer. Loved it.

Amazing location

This is the Grande Dame of French quarter hotels. Beautifully located on Royal Street, the hotel has a lot of charm and a very friendly staff. It is in easy walking distance of all the French quarter attractions but it's far enough away from Bourbon Street to be quiet.

Nice Little Getaway!

I visited this hotel in April 2014. The hotel location was excellent...everything that you would want to see and do in the French Quarter was in walking distance. The hotel itself was clean and pleasant. The staff was friendly. The room was small...even for one person. Took a while to figure out that the armoire doors slid back so that more space was provided between it and the end of the bed. ATE WELL!! No problems. Would def stay at the Monteleone again!

Great hotel and location

The hotel was great: very well-kept for a historic property, clean, friendly. The location is very central for walking to different parts of the city. The gym is not huge but I never had to wait and the rooftop location offers great views.

Very enjoyable stay

Travelled to meet with friends. Didn't stay in hotel much, but it was wonderful. Had this been a trip involving more time in the room, the room would have been found to be small in size.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

New Orleans can be best appreciated when there is not a festival. Hotels will be less expensive;lines shorter at restaurants, etc. It is wild enough on any given weekend, or weekday for that matter!

Great Location

The location of the hotel is unbeatable. There were endless dining choices all within a few blocks. The hotel was one block from Bourbon St. and a short walk (4 or 5 blocks) to Jackson Square, the river and Harrah's Casino. The room was an interior room with no windows and was very quiet at night. I have stayed in other hotels nearby and could hear the noise from Bourbon St. even though I was on the 12th floor and not directly on Bourbon St.

Great package!

One of the top hotels in an ideal location at a very reasonable price. The service was very good! My only complaint was that the lobby was freezing, but I think they crank the AC to enhance the luxury feel.
