Overview

Elegance, opulence and rich history make the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans an amazing experience. One of the first New Orleans landmarks, this luxury French Quarter hotel has been owned and operated by five generations of the Monteleone family since 1886. It has appeared in movies, television and literary works.

Keurig coffee makers, plush robes, marble and granite bathrooms, a heated rooftop pool and a state-of-the-art fitness center are just some of the luxurious amenities that surround every aspect of the Hotel Monteleone. Literary-themed suites pay homage to famous authors like Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams who have written about or visited the Hotel Monteleone. These well-appointed suites have plush furniture, parlors that can accommodate 15 to 70 people and balconies with views of the Mississippi River and French Quarter.

Nice but unorganized

Would recommend Tue, Feb 9, 2016
Really enjoyed the stay and loved how close it was to Bourbon Street and the security provided, but was turned off by a few things. I called twice before extra towels were delivered, called 3 times for a bell hop that never came, and took 40 min to get my car from valet, and the valet man didn't even seem bothered by that fact. I also felt that the staff that answered the phones for the various amenities were rude and wouldn't even let me finish my sentence before hanging up the phone.

Relaxing luxury hotel, but not the best out there

Would recommend Tue, Jan 19, 2016
We had a staycation to celebrate our recent engagement at the Monteleone. The location is of course excellent, and the lobby is one of our favorite places in the French Quarter. There's little to complain about overall, but I feel like you can get better value at other FQ luxury hotels. I was surprised at how small our room was, and, while elegant, the room still boarded on dated. You can't really go wrong staying here, and won't regret it, but if you're looking for a luxury hotel in the Quarter, I'd search around for a deal before paying full-price here.

The Hotel has a rich history and we were very happy with our room as well as the professional staff. We only ate breakfast here and it was very good. The Hotel has the most amazing bar!! We frequented the bar nightly and has great conversations with staff and other patrons.

Location can NOT be beaten!! Very nice room, small (but hey, built in the 1880s)! Did not really interact with the staff, except for the doorman. Beautiful building! Never found the rooftop pool.

The hotel was great. Was in walking distance of everything town has to offer. You're one block away from bourbon st. So it's a little bit quieter

Amazing Hotel and Amenities

Would recommend Wed, Nov 25, 2015
I didn't know what to expect when booking this hotel, and upon arriving, I was blown away. The door greeters were warm and courteous and gave a great first impression that continued throughout all staff for my entire stay. I also got a manicure at the Aria Spa, had dinner at Criollo and loved the Carousel Bar. Prices were absolutely competitive and atmosphere was extraordinary.

In the center of it all ...

Would recommend Thu, Nov 19, 2015
We left yesterday, and only wish we had had more time at your hotel. We stayed four nights at a big chain by the Superdome, then ended with one night at the Monteleone. We wish we had been there the entire time. First of all, the location. We were right in the heart of the French Quarter and could walk anywhere. Second of all, the gracious staff, southern hospitality is the best. Third, but most importantly, of all, our room. Our bed and linens were soft and cozy, the room was super quiet and clean, and we felt very pampered. We'll be back, and stay the entire time at your hotel. Thanks for everything!!

Awesome trip

Would recommend Thu, Nov 12, 2015
The hotel is located close to Bourbon Street and Jackson Square so you can get the best of both worlds. The food there was excellent and the Carousel Bar was a really neat experience. The hotel itself has a lot of history and it is interesting to walk around and see the various displays in the lobby. The rooftop gym has amazing views of the Mississippi and the gym itself has nice cardio and weight equipment.
