A time-honored New Orleans landmark, this French Quarter hotel has been owned and operated by five generations of the Monteleone family since 1886. It has appeared in movies, television and literary works. Keurig coffee makers, plush robes, marble and granite bathrooms, a heated rooftop pool, and a state-of-the-art fitness center are just some of the luxurious amenities in the Hotel Monteleone. Literary-themed suites pay homage to famous authors like Ernest Hemingway and Tennessee Williams, who visited and even wrote about the place. These well-appointed suites have plush furniture, parlors that can accommodate 15 to 70 people, and balconies with views of the Mississippi River and French Quarter.

very professional staff with service their number one goal

After years of visiting New Orleans, this was our first stay at the fabulous Hotel Monteleone. We arrived with valet parking and check in was a breeze with such professional, courteous employees who were very informative as well as friendly. The hotel itself is something to see because of its' age and beauty not found in new hotel. The history is fascinating and the location was great because we could walk all over the French Quarter without having to worry about parking our car. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone as it was truly a wonderful experience. We will visit again.

Great Location, Very Comfortable and Clean

The Hotel Monteleone was the best hotel I ever visited. When we arrived the staff was very welcoming and wonderful concierge services. I was very pleased with the setup of the room. It was was very clean and comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home. On my next trip to New Orleans I will more than likely stay there again.

Great Weekend Retreat

The Hotel Monteleone is a beautiful structure in the romantic French Quarter. A perfect location to enjoy exquisite dining, purchase master art and cross the Mississippi reminiscent of Tom Sawyer. The quality of service the hotel provided was superb, the doorman that does that little bit special for the guest. Desk personnel, friendly, helpful service. The merriment at Carousel Lounge, what fun! Room service was exceptional. Friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism clearly define The Hotel Monteleone.

Top notch service in French Quarter

Top notch service and decor with best in the French Quarter location. Fabulous additional amenities like the unique carousel bar and rooftop pool. Staff could not do enough to make the trip flawless including printing my boarding passes at the front desk since the guest computer/printer was being used. Highly recommended. The smell of fresh flowers as you enter the lobby is only the start of this delightful experience. (Note that I did not try the restaurants so that portion is untested from this traveler.)

Loved it!

Great hotel. Rooms are a bit small but it's because the hotel is so old. Carrousel bar is very neat.

Classic New Orleans

You won't find a run of the mill chain with this hotel. Just classic New Orleans, very classy, friendly, and with a unique touch. From the friendly and helpful staff to the joyful atmosphere (thanks to the great bartenders!) at the Carousel Bar, the Monteleone is beloved by locals (like me!) and you'll find no other hotel will simply do after you stay here. Safe, quiet (for the Quarter), yet centrally located for great dining, shopping, and attractions, the Monteleone is simply the best.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Forgot something? Walgreen's is across the street and well-stocked. Dragging from a long day or a long flight? Order room service coffee - as delicious as any coffee house.
