Grand Dame of the French Quarter central to area attractions
In 1886, Italian shoemaker Antonio Monteleone bought the 14-room Commercial Hotel, starting a tradition of hospitality that continues at the Monteleone to this day. The vibe throughout is retro-European, from the guest rooms' rich fabrics and marble bathrooms to the liveried doormen and distinctive Baroque façade. With its central location in the French Quarter, a few blocks from Canal Street, Jackson Square and the River Walk, the luxury Hotel Monteleone is an ideal home base for exploring the Crescent City in style.Highlights
- The lobby has crystal chandeliers, acres of marble and a grand European vibe
- A serene heated rooftop pool with breathtaking views of the downtown New Orleans skyline
- 24/7 rooftop fitness center offers panoramic views of the Mississippi River and the French Quarter
- Boutique Spa Aria uses Pevonia Botanica organic skin care products
Rooms
A renovation updated all 600 rooms and 55 suites down to marble floors, granite countertop, HD flat screens, in room fridges and high-speed Internet (fees apply). Pets are welcome (call for details) with a mat with water and food bowls, a bag of treats, and brochure of dog-friendly places in the city.
Features
In a city of great watering holes, Hotel Monteleone's Carousel Bar still manages to stand out from the crowd. The intricately carved bar, with its circus motif and cast of local characters, is iconic New Orleans. It was immortalized in the writings of Ernest Hemingway among others and hosts live piano music Wednesday through Saturday. The Hunt Room Grill provides a comfortable steakhouse atmosphere and an excellent wine list.

Hotel Monteleone
In New Orleans for business. The Monteleone is an excellent hotel and the service is tops. Regular rooms are comfortable but smallish. The restaurant and some of the meeting areas were being renovated at the time of the stay. The hotel provided a complimentary continental breakfast to make up for the closed restaurant. The continental breakfast was excellent but the room was small and the wait line became quite long after 8am.

Awesome Experience
This is a classic New Orleans Hotel. There is construction going on but it effects the outside sidewalk more then inside the hotel. The staff was very efficient except for my key which didn't work the first time. The complementary enhanced continental breakfast was very elegant with fresh linens at the table - it was so popular I needed to wait 5 minutes to get seated. Bottom line I would definately stay again with the nice price of under $119.

Short walk from hotel
Nola is in my opinion the best of Emeril Lagasse's restaurants and is three blocks from the hotel. It is well worth the walk which you will need to burn off the extra caloric intake of the awesome meal.

Great Stay
Great stay. Great location. I wanted to see some art galleries and we couldn't have been in a better spot. The hotel was really nice and the staff were great. Concierge worked her magic to get reservations at a restaurant that told me they were all booked. Would definitely go back!

locational buzz
room could have used more elec. outlets, but everything else was wonderful, including the mini-fridge. The staff was gracious, the bar was a gas, the roof pool was relaxing. Close proximity to jazzfest connections beneficial.

Historic charm
We took a family trip to celebrate my birthday. We had a 4month old with us, they were very accommodating. The food in the hotel was amazing, the staff very friendly and helpful. It was a bit pricey but definately worth it!

A very enjoyable stay
My wife and I enjoyed our stay very much. At the time of booking, only a standard room with double beds was available. However, the first question asked of us as we checked in was "would you prefer a king bed room"? This started a nice experience. Shower was terrific...Carousel bar was lots of fun. We would definitely stay at the Hotel Monteleone again!
