French Quarter Elegance

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and willing to help. The hotel was located close to everything yet the room was very quiet. We have stayed at this hotel, when available, for the past ten years and have never had a bad experience.

Perfect location!

This is a beautiful hotel. The concierge' is very helpful in scheduling sight seeing events with no need of worry if the weather turns bad and you need to cancel. This hotel is only one street off of Bourbon Street but very different. It is safe and clean. My less than perfect rating had to do with the maid service. The room was not always cleaned until almost evening #5pm upon after making the request#, they didn't always leave coffee, we had to request toilet paper - those types of things. Everything else about the hotel is terrific. The doormen are helpful in getting a cab immediately.

Use the concierge' to make any sightseeing. If the weather turns bad there is no charge to cancel. They even got us a discount on one of the tours. They are great with directions and information on what to do.

Amazing hotel

Hotel Monteleone was amazing. The location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere. It is located on Royal Street which had so many wonderful places to shop. The staff was always courteous and helpful. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We ate in the hotel restaurant, Cirollo, for brunch a number of times. The service was great. The Carousel Bar was so cool, as well as the roof top pool. Don't miss out on this wonderful hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Exceed Expectations in Almost Every Way

Beautiful lobby, spotless rooms, incredibly friendly staff, great location. My only minor compliant is lack of counter space in the bathroom. I would go out of my way to stay here every time I travel to NOLA. It's that good!

New Orleans Getaway

All in all outstanding. Will definitely return. Perfect location and French Quarter charm. With the exception of mattresses which were too soft and bouncy the room was great!

Historic hotel in a great location

We loved this historic hotel, it was in a fantastic location and the staff was amazing. The rooms were a bit small but would expect so from an older hotel. The hotel was in great shape (I believe it was recently renovated), clean and charming. The one downside is that the walls are very thin so if you have loud neighbors that can be disruptive. Overall I would recommend and would stay at the Hotel Monteleone on my next visit to New Orleans!

really good location

I have stayed at this hotel several times. The location is good, the hotel is quite grand, and the staff is always courteous and knowledgable. I only have one real complaint. The room does not cool enough even with the thermostat adjusted to the coldest setting. Not terribly uncomfortable, but a bit irritating. Other than that small gripe, this is a good place to stay if you want to be in the French Quarter, but not deep into the French Quarter. Very very good restaurants within 1-3 blocks.

Most reliably excellent hotel in New Orleans

This is a family owned luxury property right in the heart of the French Quarter (but far enough away from Bourbon Street not to be by it. It's my first hotel choice when I stay in New Orleans. Unlike many corporate chains that claim luxury status this one earns it. Very comfortable and restful place to stay.

Excellent for Just the 2 of Us

The two of us booked this hotel for a weekend by ourselves. The location couldn't have been better. We were able to walk to everything, only using cabs for the airport. The room was small, but wonderfully decorated and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept on. The staff was very helpful and happy to help, even when we asked a simple question to what turned out to be the "VIP" (rather than the "regular") concierge. We definitely would stay at this hotel again.

Dinner at Dickie Brennan's steakhouse (half a block away) and Sunday jazz brunch at Mr. B's (across the street) were both wonderful and worth the price!
